NWR: modest swimsuits

What kind of swimsuit do you have? Normally I wear a bikini, but I'm taking a swimming class in the fall and want something more modest!

I can't find any tankinis that are cute and well-priced. I really don't want a one-piece because I'm worried about them stretching in the wrong places...any suggestions?

I might end up with this (boring!) one:

So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday.

I only wear bikinis too as that's what I'm most comfortable in. Tankinis are uncomfortable with the extra material and they ride up while swimming.

When I used to take swim lessons when I was younger, my mom bought me some neat colored speedos that helped me swim faster and not to be tugging on the different pieces of fabric.

Target usually has really cute ones.  I have been avoiding that section this year because I have a bit of a problem :).
Also, I have never had a problem with one pieces stretching in weird places except when they were really old (read 5 years+) and that was the speedos for swim team
I like the one pieces from VS (pricy) and I have a couple from Target that have kept their shape great.
I used to wear them a lot to take the kids that I nannied for to the community pool.

i have been wondering the same thing!

but i have another problem!!! tan lines! ah! lol.
my dress is strapless and my wedding is in mid-august... i dont want to have those hideous tan lines at my wedding. so i was looking for a strapless tankini..which was VERY hard! but i finally found one at VS but pricey! i may have to splurge on it tho. we will see.

    here it is. (:

VS always had coupon codes/sales so if it isnt urgent, I would wait for one of them to come around that applies.
PS can't click the link bc it is blocked at work "Reason  = Sex" LOL

Weird that this post came up today. I was so waiting for it to come up again, because I just found the cutest tankinis yesterday at the mall and wanted to share!  Check out downeastbasics.com (or check out the store if you have one in your mall...it's my new favorite store at ours.)

If you are doing a swimming class, you will probably be most comfortable in a one piece.  If you get a good suit, it should not stretch.  You can find suits at most large sporting good stores (like Diick's Sporting Goods or Modell's here in the East - I don't know what you have in Texas).

BTW - TK is blocking the first word in "DicksSportingGoods"!!  So I spelled the word with two "i"s

I agree with PP's. Target is my best friend for swimsuits every year. Just bought 2 for the HM.

Check out Lime Ricki swimwear: http://www.limericki.com/WOMEN

I bought my suit last year at a ballet shop in town that carries suits as well closer to summer and they had several modest tankinis.

I actually shop at Kohls for most of my swimsuits.  I am going to get a new swimsuit this year that is a modest one-piece but is strapless so that I don't end up with any weird tan lines or burn lines, haha! :-)
July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!

exactly this. I am a lifeguard and if you are doing any sort of lap swimming a one piece isn't going to get in the way. I've tried swimming laps in a tankini and it just got in the way (think floating up around you) . If you get a good quality swimsuit, like Speedo, Nike, etc. they won't get stretched out too quickly.

Also just a little tip, rinse your suit out really well when you get out of the pool. It helps it last longer.

Target is definitely my favorite for affordable suits in general. I wear tankinis, one pieces, and bikinis and I'm able to find everything I like at Target. :) Good luck!
