Re: Monday QOTD

  • My american friend is having a 4th July party :D
    Anniversary
  • DH will be post-call, so he should get home from the hospital around 11am and get to stay home!  He'll probably sleep for a few hours, but it'll be nice to see him during the day.  We're going to a BBQ in the evening.

  • We're still trying to decide if we're going to go up to our apartment (I have to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday) since H should be off starting Wednesday until Monday. If not, probably just lounging and going to watch fireworks.

  • We're going over to MIL/FIL's house for a cookout. They invited my mom, dad, brother and grandma as well. Then we're going to a cute little amusement park.
  • I think FI is going for a hike himself in the morning and then coming down ... Promised child I'd take him to see the local fireworks which arent bad for a lil city ..

  • I find it very ironic since we are going to celebrate the 4th in Germany with a British man.  We don't have any fireworks though :(  So we are just going to have a camp fire and drink beer.  lol  Should be fun.

  • I have to work during the day and my FI has to work that night.  Sadly we won't really be celebrating.

  • We're going to the beach in the morning. That night we're having a cookout and shooting off some fireworks!
  • It's forcasted to be 103 here on Wednesday, so we're probably staying in until we go to the park for fireworks around 9:15ish (fireworks start at 9:45).  There are activities in the park all day long, but I have no desire to be in that heat.  The pool is also free for the day, but it'll probably be packed.

DH has the entire day off, not sure if I do yet or not.
  • last year we got Chinese because the BBQ got rained out and DH wants to continue with that tradition. We will probably go out later for fireworks

  • My birthday is Jan 4, 10 days after Christmas.  You can imagine the financial stress for everyone.  When I was little, I had the choice to celebrate my half birthday or my actual birthday.  I chose my half birthday, which is July 4, and that's still when we celebrate my birthday.  So we're having birthday lunch with my parents, complete with cake and ice cream, and then I'm going to a friend's house for the evening while H goes to work.  We're doing fireworks at my friend's house.
  • Drama, that's awesome!

from what I know, they aren't doing the concert this year. They had announced this a couple weeks ago prior to the power outages in the area. I need to double check to make sure they are still doing the fireworks though....

  • My Mother's cousin from GA that I haven't seen in a very long time (so long I don't know who she is...) is coming up because her son has a baseball tournament. We are  meeting them for lunch at Cracker Barrel :) My all time favorite place ever. Tastes like Moma or one of my mamaws fixed it :) Afterwards, FI and I will probably go shopping!

  • H is working but after work, we are heading to the park where they have a huge festival and fireworks.  Going to work at the table for our church for a bit and then watch the fireworks!

Posted by Ash61612[/QUOTE]<div>I remember hearing something like that on facebook, but I also saw that a sponsor stepped up at the verrrrry last minute.  I just looked at the paper's site and it said the music starts at 8, which seems much later than usual, and it doesn't say anything about the Symphony performing.  </div><div>
</div><div>I also saw today that the hospital and office buildings are off the generators and back on regular power, so the complex <em>should </em>be ok...you'd think.</div><div>
</div><div>My mom is a nurse at that big hospital right next to the complex and my dad and brother are both paramedics for them, as well, so we always went to the Patient Transport building to have a cookout with the other medics and set up lawn chairs in the parking lot.  We could hear the music, see the fireworks, but didn't have to deal with all the people or parking and downtown traffic.  :)
