Premarital Counseling books

I have a friend who recently got engaged and I found out that she and her fiance will not be able to have any form of premarital counseling before their wedding. I know how much counseling helped DH and I and I just want the same help for her and her She wanted premarital counseling but because of him being in the military, they just can't do it. She is open to her and her FI reading a marriage book and discussing it with one another. I know the books DH and I read for our counseling but I want a larger range of books to recommed for her and Fi to read and discuss.

Theres one called Things I Wish I knew before I got married and also another one they are both by Gary Chapman the author of the 5 Love Languages... [also should read ] ... Anything by Gary Chapman ... So easy to read and helpful !

We did Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts along with the Workbook for Men and Workbook for Women.

I think there's a workbook for Love and Respect now, too.  We read that when we first got engaged.

I second this book suggestion. And "un suggest" Intended For Pleasure because it was not helpful. It was more ridiculous and made me roll my eyes

Another one that gets you thinking is "101Questions to Ask Before You Get Engaged". Obviously, they're already engaged, but it asks a bunch of questions that you might not otherwise think to discuss with your SO. DH and I used it to spark discussion about where we stood on issues, even after we were engaged.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I plan on giving her Sheet Music the month before her wedding so that's covered. I am meeting up with her next week for lunch and so I will mention these books then. Keep the suggestions coming

DH and I read For Men Only and For Women Only, respectively, by the Feldhahns as part of our premarital counseling.

Not a counselling book specifically but I definitely recommend 5 Love Languages.
