Baby Fever Anyone?

FI and I are getting married in 80 days (yay!) and though I am so excited about really cherishing every moment of our wedding and honeymoon-lately all I can think about it having a baby. We had discussed waiting a while (at least 2 years) to TTC. Buy a house, save some more money and enjoy each other alone for a while. And inside I know this is the right thing to do, but I just can't help this baby fever! Anyone else???

A lot of the newlyweds in FI's church all get pregnant soon after getting married. I have no idea if that's their intention, but that's the way it happens. There are a lot of babies around, but I've managed to avoid baby fever. No idea how, though. Maybe it's the screaming and crying, lol.

I have it so bad.  And DH is starting to get it, too.  I highly doubt we'll end up waiting a year to TTC like we had planned.

I am so far from baby-fever land. Hahaha. I love kids and want them eventually but the thought makes me wanna run for the hills

I'm so back and forth on this... we wanted to wait at least a year before we started trying, which just passed with our anniversary a few weeks ago, then we wanted to make sure we were settled into our house, which we now are. But I still don't feel ready. We have a cruise coming up with our good friends in a month which I've been anticipating since we booked it in January and knew I didn't want to be pregnant for it, so when my BC pill prescription runs out in September, I'm not refilling them. However, we'll probably just be careful for at least another few months as my mom warned me that if we plan on flying home for Christmas that I won't want to be battling morning sickness with needing to fly and trying to enjoy seeing everyone over a short period of time.

Plus every time we're out and I hear kids screaming, it's like nails on a chalkboard. I know that sounds terrible, and I want kids I really do, but I just don't know if I'm ready. With me going off the pill in a few months, I'm just going to leave it up to God and His perfect timing for me and DH. DH wants to start trying now, but understands my feelings and thinks financially it'll be better to wait a few more months since we just settled into the house and we should have a few months before going on to the next big life event.

However, whenever I walk into the bedroom next to ours which we've designated as the nursery, I get warm fuzzy feelings thinking of how it'll be when it's actually a nursery. *sigh* I'm so torn..

I'm trying to avoid it because DH and I just can't afford to get pregnant but we both have it a little bit. It's funny as I was signing on to the board I thought "I wonder when someone on the board is going to get pregnant" and of course this pops up haha

FI has a plan where we're going to wait 2 years after we're married.  That is fine with me, I adore kids but am not ready to have one of my own yet.  FI came up with the plan, and I hope he is still ok with it once we're married since I know his desire is actually to have kids asap but he is willing to wait since I have career things to do first.  I'm just trusting in God's plan right now!

FI and I both want kids pretty quickly, but are planning to wait till we've both been out of school for at least a year. So many of our friends and family have little ones that I know if it wasn't for the financial aspects of schooling we wouldn't wait too long!

We're waiting two years after the wedding. I'd get a real kick out of having a "Honeymoon Baby", but that's not the plan.

The plan right now is for FI and I to start TTC on our 5th anniversary.  We want kids, but not anytime soon - assuming that I can even have them.

haha.  I had a nightmare last night that I was pregnant and kept hoping my period would come.  We don't want children ever.  It might be different if I didn't have to serve as an incubator for 9 months and babies were trained as quickly as dogs.  If all babies could be like Athena and pop out of a man's head fully grown, I think I'd be ok with it.

I keep asking DH if he's SURE they won't perform a vasectomy until he's 30.  Only 3 years, 3 months, and a few days to go!

FI and I have discussed kids. I love children, but I don't think FI knows what to do with kids...haha. Whether we decide to have children or not is going to be a bit of a complicated desicion that we will totaly leave up to God. Since we are going to be missionaries it would be a little scary to have a baby in another country. We are sure though that if we decide to have kids we will definitely adopt and maybe have one biologically. We would adopt first though. It'll be at least five years though before we really start thinking about it cause we're only 19.

Haha, I'm such a contradictory person.  I don't want kids for another 4-5 years, but I have huge baby fever at the age of 26, and it gets worse every year!  I send pictures of cute babies to my husband.  Whenever I'm unhappy at my job, I like to walk a block down the street and sneak looks into the nursery where they have all these adorable babies crawling around, and it brings a big smile to my face.  I have liked talking about baby names so much, my mom thought I was trying to drop a hint that I was pregnant.  But I'm totally not ready for them, time-, financial-, or mature-wise.  DH loves kids, and I think he's even better around them than me.  (I get super shy.)

I have baby fever, but I control it by getting my "baby fix" by visiting with our friend's newborn. She's so cute and is so fun to hold, play with, coo over, but she reminds me why I'm not QUITE ready for a baby yet. (feedings, diaper changes, constant care.. etc.) I think we will wait 2-3 years before starting to try for babies so hopefully some more friends get on it and have babies during our waiting period

haha you all took the words right out of my mouth! I actually just wrote a post on the Nest's BNOTB board...

SO NOT READY!!Call me selfish! But I don't want the financial/emotional/physical/timely responsibility I.E. I don't want to give up my life yet! I understand that when you have kids they ARE your life, but I just got married in January, so I think it's reasonable to want some alone time with DH for a few more years  Plus we're 24. I don't even want to deal with having a cat yet! (and I freakin love cats).As much as I am looking forward to the whole bonding experience of being pg (hoping I don't get the "morning" sickness my mom had) I can wait!Just gotta play with lots of babies and kids (and cats) to get my fix! Which was harder after moving away from my niece & nephew, but more and more people in my life have been poppin out babies now, so I can live vicariously through them! hahaha"

I was avoiding this post but decided to finally read it.  I'm bearing soul here.  I want children and DH does not.  When we talked about it before getting married, he was open to the idea.  Now he just says he isn't ready.  I am 40 and am at the point where I have realized that I can't wait.  And I don't want to have a child who isn't wanted by both mom and dad.  Mother's Day has been very difficult for me for the past two years.  I try to convince myself that there are many benefits to not having children but it's still hard.  Please pray for me.  I need peace about this.  I believe that God would change DH's heart if it was His will for us to have children.  He hasn't so I need to be okay with that.

i think all of our friends have more baby fever for us than we do. we really want kids but not anytime soon. we wanna enjoy each other alone for a while and be able to save up money/DH to finish school first. but all of our friends are taking bets/making predictions about how soon we'll get pregnant. i heard 3 months from someone...lol

iamjoesgurl - so sorry to hear that, I can only begin to imagine how hard it is...

sending prayers up for you to feel peace in whatever happens (remember, God has spectacular plans for your life!) and I pray for DH to listen if God's trying to say that now *is* the time for you to start your family

We don't have baby fever.. yet. We will see cute babies or baby related things and think they're adorable but we want plenty of time for ourselves first.

We plan on having kids starting when I'm 26.

FI and I are 23.  We want to wait until we're 30 to have kids, so we'll probably start TTC when we're around 28 (we anticipate problems getting pregnant).

For now, my cousin has a two year old boy and I'm going to her baby shower Saturday for the little girl that's due in August, so I've got my baby fix.

It comes and goes. lol. i know my FI will be a GREAT father. (: When we first started talking about it.. FI said 5 years... then it went down to 3 years... then we were pretty stuck on 2 years. so 2 years after getting married we would start to try. Then one day FI calls me and says "i wanna start trying after 1 year.. i want to be a father and you to be the mother of my child." it was sooo sweet! 

So we are going to wait about a year and then start trying. We really want that alone time with just him and i. (:

I plan on about 5 years, DH plans on maybe later than that - however I know it's all in God's timing and according to His plan. 

Anytime I get baby fever one of my cats or dog does something like a child and I get over it.  Plus I ask my sister when she and her hubby are going to get prego......

@iamjoesgurl, I will be praying for you!!!  I pray that if it's in God's will for you guys that God will soften DH's heart to the idea of children!!  Sending up prayers for comfort and strength for you as well, if it's meant to be... it will happen

My FI and I have decided we're not going to 'not try' to have a baby after we get married. I have a friend (she had her baby today!!!) but after her and her hubby got married she was on birth control and after a few months they realized they were super disappointed about not getting pregnant so she got off the pill and now have a cute baby girl  and I feel like I would be that way.
 I worked in a day care and I grew up dancing and then began teaching dance classes to little ones well from 3 years to high school age (some days I preferred the 3 year olds lol jk!! lol) so needless to say I LOVE kids!  and FI wants to be a dad!!  FI and I LOVE surprises so if after we're married and I get pregnant we will be more then excited! 
But who knows... if it's in God's will for us that early on in marriage then awesome if not then we'll be ok with that too!
