Invitations! Question...

I have been looking online and I can't seem to find invites, with everything included (reception cards etc) for under $400.00! We have about 125-150 guests to invite. Is this how much invites are? Or does anyone have any website suggestions on where to look for cheaper invites? When I did my budget I was not thinking invites were going to be this much....

Re: Invitations! Question...

  • Hi

I had the same problem, a lot of my friends paid $350-$500 for paper people throw out anyhow (minus your parents!).  The cheapest I could find online was around $230-$250 canadian.  That was Wedding Star Magazine, or you can try wedding paper divas.

I swore I was not going to do my own invites, I didn't want any hassle.  I found a beautiful set at Michaels....(we are having the same # of guests as you) and the invites are $54.99 a box...but they are always on sale for 30% off OR you can use your 40% coupon (just bring a friend and use 2 or 3 coupons per person).  My friend is a scrapbooker so she said lining up the words isn't too bad, she'll do it with me....with lots of wine, lol.

In a nutshell, I ordered them (they were always sold out) 3 boxes (120 invites which is more than enough) and it will range $100-$115 canadian, taxes included (for rsvp, invite, envelopes, ribbon, etc). Hope that helps.

  • I purchased the michaels boxes but i am not doing them because I just am too busy to do it and i don't want to deal with it. I found on etsy a seller who will give you the digit copy of an invite and rsvp for 30 bucks and then i am going to print it off of vistaprint, upgrading the paper, and it will be great!

I just don't want to pay too much either, and it will probably be total under 100 dollars, not bad for stuff that gets thrown away.
  • craft stores are a great place to look.

If you google wedding invitations, you'll get a lot of online companies.
Wedding Paper Divas, Invitations by Dawn, etc. They're all pretty reputable for being used.

Etsy is a great site to get something unique as well. Especially if you do a bit of searching and look for good pricing!

Personally, I am DIY-ing mine from scratch... but I do that as a side business so I'm pretty used to it :-)
  • Invitations by dawn are pretty cheap.  I think we are using David's Bridal--with all pieces it looks like it is going to cost about $200.  Vistaprint is always an option too.
  • I ordered all of my separately from Vistaprint, but they have matching pieces. I bought 6 living social deals and am making pocket envelopes to put everything in and they're costing me only about $0.80 each. Another place to look is Amazon. They have some great styles on there that you just have to put in the wording and print off.

  • We are using Magnet Street.com for our invites. With everything, our invites were under $200.

Remember that noe each individual guest you invite gets their own invite.  So if you have 125 guests you may only need half or more than that number---1 per couple/family, 1 per guest over the age of 18, etc.  We plan to order ours from The American Wedding and there are coupon codes you can find online.  For 70 it will cost us around $200-$250 depending on what options we go with.
  • Got mine from annsbridalbargains.com.  About $190 for 125 invites, response cards, and reception cards.  They're definitely not super fancy, but they'll serve their purpose and then be thrown away.  :)  The site has some cute designs!
  • I'm putting Wedding Paper Divas out there again because they have SUCH good customer service. As long as you don't pick anything ultra fancy, you'll be able to get everything in under 250 for sure. And like someone else said, consider all the couples/families/etc that you're inviting -- it should cut down your numbers by a lot (ex. we're inviting 75 people, but we only needed 45ish invites).

<div>We used WPD for our save the dates and were SO happy with how they turned out.  You're right, the customer service is awesome.  I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.  </div>

Wedding paper divas have a sale going on now! We ordered our invites and response cards and saved 20% and of course, the next week, they had a sale for saving 25%! it ends the 29th!
