Got our first wedding gifts last night!!!

Went to marriage counseling last night and when we pulled in to our driveway, there was a big Crate and Barrel box at our door!!!  I screamed and immediately jumped out of the car, jumping up and down clapping like a seal lol

We got some AMAZING chalkboard canisters and I've been lusting after and some really awesome, colorful mixing bowls from FI's aunt :)  I'm going to run to Target to get our thank you notes (I didn't think I'd need them already!!!) and write her tonight.  It just sucks that I have to put everything away until after Nov. 10!!! I want to use it all now!!

    Congrats!  What are chalkboard canisters?  They sound interesting!

    We got 2 shower gifts so far - a cookware set from my aunt and a serving bowl set from FI's cousin.

    We got small, medium, and large :)  They're so adorable.  And congrats!!  Cookware sets are so nice to have!

    Ohhh ok - those are neat!  I love all the new chalkboard things that have been coming out.  When we move, we're definitely going to paint one of our smaller walls near the kitchen with chalkboard paint!

    LOVE our cookware set.  We originally put it in storage to use after our wedding, but my aunt insisted that we use it now.  So we got it back out and started using it.  It's so nice to have GOOD cookware finally!

    Aloisk57, this gave me a chuckle! I could picture myself doing the same thing. We haven't received anything yet but my shower is a week from Sunday...

    That's exciting! I had a jump up and down moment when I checked our Macy's registry and saw that someone had bought two sets of our Fiestaware and another Fiestaware serving platter. My first shower is next week, so I'm excited to see people getting us gifts now! :)

    Our shower is 9/16 too!! We recevieved a few gifts but we havent opened them yet-we were waiting for the shower-but now I am thinking we should so we can send thank you cards! I dont want people thinking we are unappreciative! Oops!

    Definitely open them right away and send a thank you note.  Just don't use anything until after the wedding :)

    Yes open and send cards! We did that because I didn't want anyone to think that A) their gift never arrived and b) that I was selfish or anything.

    Its so exciting.

    I just had my first shower yesterday and it was so much fun. People are so giving. Now everything is just sitting in our dining room!
