When we first got engaged my dad said that we HAVE to get married in the catholic church and so even though my FI and I do not want to get married in the catholic church we found one and have been doing the classes.
Now to present day...
So, we had a wedding discussion with my parents the other night and the first thing out of my mom's mouth was, that if I don't plan on continuing to be catholic then I need to not be getting married in the catholic church. But then the next sentence was your grandpa might be very sad if you don't.
So, my FI and I are deciding to not get married in the church, but do you think this will cause a tiff? I mean my mom said we could but then she said it would upset people. But honestly they kept saying it was our wedding and we need to do what we want.
Do you ladies think I should switch and do what I want and let the drama blow over OR just stay at the church pay the extra 800 dollars for something we don't want.
