July 2012 Weddings

Not sure what to do....Help

So I went to the mail box a minute ago to check for more responses. And I saw a box on the other door's porch. (I live in a 4 family house and I have my own seperate enterance. Mail boxes are at the other door)

So I see a Bed Bath and Beyond box. I was like, awww neighbor got presents. I bent over to move the box out of the walking way and was going to insert into the hall the 3 other units share, when I saw my name on it.

I found out my shower isn't till June. So do I hold onto this? Do I open it? What the heck do I do with this big box that is taunting me? Lol

  • I would open it to see what it is and who sent it so you can send a Thank You :) I had my shower already, but we received a few gifts at our apartment from people who weren't able to attend the shower.  We opened them and sent thank yous as soon as possible.  It made things much easier!

  • Well I guess too, I should head out and start stocking up on Thank you cards. LOL!

I text FI at work and he said "Don't open it till I get home. I wanna see!" We picked out a lot of cooking items and he is the cook so he is overly excited about these gifts. Lol. I picked out all the hosting stuff when we have company.

Open it. We have already opened 2 of our packages which were our dishes from my grandmother and aunt.

Traditionally you are not supposed to open or use them until after the wedding in case you dont get married. That way you can return the guests to whoever bought them for you.  But there is no backing out of any kind of wedding in our case.

  • I would open it and send out a thank you card. We got a gift from our best man not sure if it is house warming gift but we are sending out a thank you Monday. We just bought some cards at target last night.

I'd open it as well. If I sent a gift via the mail, which I don't trust all that much, I'd want to know if it was received
  • Update: I waited till FI came home and we opened together. It was from my cousin who cannot attend the wedding. We got the silverware setting from our registry. So exciting. :)

I picked up some thank you cards so I can mail it off Monday.
  • Open it, see who it is from & send them a thank you card =)
