Paperzone rave

they gave me two sheets of fancy cardstock paper for free!

Got them for my invite mockup so it was the only thing I picked up

it made my day:)

then i went to Michaels.  They have a bunch of new DIY Invites, and they are SO FREAKING CHEAP.. about $0.75 per invite including response cards and envelopes. And the quality is pretty decent.  Im thinking about giving in. But i have gotten so attached to the design that i found online.

A lot depends on how much you like DIYing. Unless the design you found online is super pricey, the savings just isn't that big.

But +1 to the paper zone ... we got our invite stuff there too :).

ooohhh, I'll have to check out a Michael's whenever I have the chance.

You should do whatever type of invites you think you have the time and energy for.  Total DIY invites look soooo good, but they seem like a lot of work.

I say give in. We used some from Michaels and love them. Plus they have a ton of other stuff to coordinate with the invites (cards box, guest book, etc.) You can always alter the Michaels ones a little (switch out the ribbon) to  personalize them.
