Frustration with wedding attire

I hope you all don't mind if I take a minute and vent.

Issue #1: Last Wednesday after my FI got off of work at 8 pm we discovered a message from Men's Wearhouse re his tux.  They needed him, or a guy in the WP to get to the store before 9 pm THAT NIGHT to get fitted, or we would loose the tuxes we wanted (gray).  My FI shot out the door and got there in time; the store manager apologized but they had just been told early that day that there was a run on the tuxes for the summer and to pull anyone they didn't have a measurement for.

Issue #2:We've been having trouble finding the BMd and MOH dresses; wanting them in the same color but whatever style they like best.  Been checking around and keep hearing "it's too late because they have to be altered".  What the..????  Flying to Tucson to go shopping with my MOH to find the right dress after BMd and I go shopping here.

Issue #3: I bought my wedding dress at a small shop because they could "do it all" including the alterations.  Called Saturday to make my first fitting appointment and was told, after almost 5 minutes on hold, "sorry but we aren't going to do your alterations but I can suggest somewhere for you to go".  I paid the price I did for the "one stop shop" (I love my dress but could've found it cheaper online).  My BMd, who'd reccomended the place as that's where she got her dress is furious, I was in tears, and now am looking for a place around Tacoma that can do the alterations (take it in and add some sleeves or straps).

To say it's been a frustrating week is an understatement!  And we still have to find dresses for my sisters and nieces who are helping with the wedding (not part of the WP), and for my mom who is the only parent that will be there.  So the shopping continues!

Thanks for letting me vent!

That all really sucks! I'm sorry you're having attire issues. : / Have you tried department stores for dresses? They normally don't have the same lead time as BMd/MOH specific dresses. Hope you figure something out. Let us know if you need help finding stuff. :)

I'm curious which bridal shop this is you're talking about....

For Tacoma alterations, everyone raves about Elizabeth Parks. It doesn't appear her website is working right now but this is the email address I used when I was getting a BM dress altered: Lizaanne3@aol.com     one warning: I don't think she's very cheap.

Ugh that's totally frustrating. I also recommend checking out department stores for bridesmaid dresses. We went to Nordstrom for my bridesmaid dreses and the girls had them all within a week or so.
