WWWWD?

So last night UPS left a box at our door.  H went to get it and noticed that it belonged to a neighbor across the street, so he walked it on over to her porch and left it there.  When he came back in the house I asked if that was my Sephora package and he explained that no, the package wasn't ours...but there was a Sephora package on the neighbor's doorstep when he dropped off the one that had been mistakenly delivered to us.  So maybe the driver swapped the packages?  Or maybe she also had a Sephora order. 

But this morning I checked the shipping tracking number and sure enough, it says that it was delivered last night so I'm 99.9% sure she has my Sephora package. 

Packages are gone from the neighbor's porch now.  I don't really know her well, but I know she knows our names because she has worked with H a few times and we have mutual friends. 

So do I call her and ask if she maybe got a package for us?

Let it go for a few days and see if she returns it on her own?

This is the third package that has been misdelivered to us in the past few weeks that should have gone to a neighbor or the next street over.  Each time H or I have walked it to the appropriate house, so I'm going to be really annoyed if she doesn't do the same...or worse if she keeps my stuff.

Yeah, I'd go knock on the door AND chew UPS out.

I'd call and ask her, and then call UPS to complain about the misdeliveries.

I think it is pointless to complain to UPS.  It will do no good.  I should be impressed that they got it to the right street. 

I know she is at work right now, so I'll give her this evening to return the package but I'll contact her tomorrow if that doesn't happen.

It isn't entirely useless.  We made such a big stink to DHL once that they paid for an entirely new shipment, and made damn sure that it got to us.

Why didn't you go back over last night and check the Sephora box?

Nico, I thought about it, but I was afraid that poking around on her porch would look a little suspect.  Also, I didn't think to check the tracking number until this morning.

You live in the South, woman!  Poking around on her porch is permissible in your state's statutes, I'm sure.

If I were you I'd have been pounding on her last night. What if she touches your makeup? Puts her fingers in it and stuff? *shudder* Go get you your stuff back, woman!

zsa, you know what you and i are really upset about (because dh would behave the same way) -- why didn't mr. zsa read the address label on the other box and see if it was yours?!  i mean, why would the ups guy misdeliver one box and not the other?

Cant_wait!

emailing your neighbor, that lives across the street, seems a whole lot weirder than knocking on the door and saying "hey neighbor, I'm missing a package! Do you have it?" like a normal, friendly neighbor doing a normal neighbory thing.

I didn't realize Sephora sold garage sale makeup.

Contact her tonight and let her know that UPS left her package with you and you returned it.  Then mention you have one missing. 

I'd definitely be calling UPS though.
