Wedding Venues

Hey Everyone,

So I'm trying to figure out the best venue to accomodate approx 200 guests where they allow outside catering if possible.  Any suggestions?  We have only been engaged for less than 2 weeks but thought to at least secure the location before we get down to the details.

Thanks!

Do you have an idea of budget for the venue?

We're doing Mount Baker Community Club, which accomodates 300, can do outside catering & is GORGEOUS. They also book up to 2 years in advance.

A country location... It would be helpful for us to know budget and approx. location you would like to get married.

Ooops, sorry, new to this so I don't know what I need to sahre....we are being consevative and trying to stay between 10-15,000.  We are open to various locations between Everett to Bellevue.

I have been looking at the Blue Ribbons Cooking for catering and location, has anyone had their wedding there before?

I also looked into the MOunt Baker Community Center, do you have to decorate everythign yourself?

    Sorry so many questions.

    Thanks,

Re: Mount Baker...you really don't need to do much to decorate, it's such a beautiful space. We're only doing colorful floral arrangemnets on each table and that's about it. They provide tables/chairs and a PA system if you do an ipod mix.

If you're thinking of the place on Lake Union, Blue Ribbon doesn't really fit 200.

When you say "outside catering" do you just mean that they don't make you use a specific caterer, or do you want to be able to eat outside?

This is another chance for me to plug my Seattle Wedding Venues Map. The green pushpins are venues that allow any caterer. Some of the red pushpins have a list of "preferred" caterers that you can choose from.

The Everett Floral Hall is a great low-cost space that we looked at; if we had a larger guest list we would have gone with it but we didn't need that much space. Some of the Seattle City parks sit close to 200 -- I think Golden Garden's Bathouse will sit up to 180.

Let me know what venue you end up picking so I can add it to the map! :).

Hey Niq, you don't have my reception venue on your map yet: Clise Mansion in Redmond. http://www.seattlebride.com/the-properties/clise-mansion/

I think it can acommodate up to 400+ if you rent the whole house. You get the gardens and courtyard with that, too.

    Great advice, thanks!!!

What time of year are you looking for?  Outside, inside, or combination?  And ditto Niq's question on what exactly you mean by "outside caterer"?
