Where are you going? We're going to Riviera Maya, and we're staying at Secrets Maroma... I'm so excited!!

What are your plans while you're there? Park our bootays on the beach and enjoy lots and lots of margaritas!! We also really want to go see the Ruins, and go snorkeling, and I'm trying to decide between going to Xel-Ha or XCaret. I also really want to swim with dolphins, but we'll see. Also, I am definitely going to surprise FI with a couples massage. :)

When are you leaving? We're leaving the Monday after the wedding, so basically a day later. I can only imagine how busy Sunday will be, since I'm sure we'll be hanging out with family, then we have to make the 1.5hr drive home, and we leave at 5:15 Monday morning. Oh well... we can sleep on the plane!!

What's so special about your honeymoon (other than the fact that you're now MARRIED and are on your HONEYMOON!)? This is our first REAL vacation to someplace like this, together. We've been to Vegas, and Phoenix, and little trips here and there, but those were always with family, or whatever. Plus, FI has never been to Mexico. And I LOVE Mexico. So I'm very excited!!

Where are you going? Cancun! We're staying at a timeshare MOH's dad offered to us (although we paid him some money for it - didn't want to just take it!)

What are your plans while you're there? Excursions. I've been to Cancun befoe but FI hasn't. Isla Murjeres, Chichen Itza, Tulum, etc. And of course Cancun! And we'll be doing a dinner at Pericos because it's too much fun!
When are you leaving? 6am the day after the wedding Surprised

What's so special about your honeymoon (other than the fact that you're now MARRIED and are on your HONEYMOON!)? It will be our first, actual, real vacation together. We've only done "extended" weekend getaways before and have never flown together before either.

Tygirl- I've been to Cancun before, but I've never done Tulum or Chitzen Itza. I think when I went with my family, a new Harry Potter book had just come out, and I was engulfed in that for the whole trip. LOL. Isla Mujeres is awesome though!

What's Pericos? You've piqued my interest... :)

We've flown twice together, but its been for long weekends too, so no real "vacation" for us. I think after this one, we will start taking more, just because we finally bit the bullet and paid for a vacation. Does that make sense?

FI gets nervous when we fly... I'll have to make sure I pack some Xanax and load him up before we leave.

AND I cant believe you're leaving the next morning! HOLY CRAP!

Where are you going?
Salt Spring Island in British Columbia
What are your plans while you're there?
Relax, relax, relax.
When are you leaving?
We're getting married on a Sunday, so Tuesday morning.
What's so special about your honeymoon (other than the fact that you're now MARRIED and are on your HONEYMOON!)?
Well, this is our mini-honeymoon, and we'll be totally unplugged the whole time--no phone/internet/etc. Which is a big deal for us! Our big trip will be to New Zealand in January 2011, which will be our big adventurous honeymoon.

Yeah, we both wanted to do the Monday, but A) due to the timeshare thing the timeframe is actually Sat-Sat and since we'll be busy the first Sat getting married, we decided to leave Sunday. FI had enough Delta points where his flight was free and only so many flights through Delta so we booked. On our flight back we have a 7 (yes, seven) hour layover in Atlanta so I'll likely plan a mini excursion for us out of the airport and into Atlanta during that time too.

Makes sense to me about starting to take vacations. Actually this will be an experience for FI - he's NEVER taken an actual vacation before. It was kind of like pulling teeth convincing him this is worthwhile. It was something I really wasn't willing to bend on - I pretty much demanded a 1 week HM. I'm hoping this experience will be fun for him and he'll be willing to do vacations after. :)

Oh yeah, and Perico's: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/travel/destinations/related/cancun/5654758.html
SOOOO much fun!

And dolphins....I have a dolphin tattoo, that's how much I LOVE dolphins! I swam with them when I was last there on Discovery Cove on Isla murjeres and I told FI I wanted to go again. His response? "Isn't that inhumane to keep them like that?" Cry

Where are you going?
To Hawaii. That is, if we ever book our honeymoon. We've been kind of tight on cash, and I don't want to touch the "wedding money" that is set aside right now, because, well, just in case. We're almost there though, with the honeymoon funds. FI's health problems have put a damper on funds.
What are your plans while you're there?
Go back to the beach he proposed on, swim with dolphins, snorkel Haunauma Bay, take the Lost Hummer tour, go to a Luau, spend lots of time on the beach, hike inland.
When are you leaving?
We're trying for the Sunday morning after the wedding.
What's so special about your honeymoon (other than the fact that you're now MARRIED and are on your HONEYMOON!)? That we're returning to the beach where we got engaged. It is SO beautiful there! I totally love Oahu. Aaaaand, if I have my way... honeymoon baby!

Where are you going?
We are going to Florida for a little over a week and then from Florida we leave on a cruise that goes to Cozumel, Costa Rica and Panama.

What are your plans while you're there?
We are going to disney world for a few days while we are in Florida and we will also try to seek out a nice beach down there that maybe FI can teach me to surf! On the cruise we plan to just relax spend time together, have nice dinners, play at the casino, see the shows etc. Then we want to do some fun excursions on the stops but we haven't picked those out yet!

When are you leaving?
We leave two days after our wedding. We will spend the day after our wedding showing family around downtown Seattle.

What's so special about your honeymoon (other than the fact that you're now
MARRIED and are on your HONEYMOON!)?
Just that we get an oppertunity to just relax and enjoy being married together before going back to real life.

Where are you going?
We haven't bought tickets or planned it out yet, but we are thinking we really want to go to Costa Rica. There is an all-inclusive there that we will probably stay in.

What are your plans while you're there?
We are big adventurers/thrill seekers and Costa Rica has a lot of adventure opportunities. I have always wanted to go zip-lining and they have that there. They have some rapelling through the tree tops (canopy tours), white water rafting, kayaking. There are some hikes that bring you to some hot springs, which would be fun, and there is a volcano there that you can visit. Its pretty cool. www.visitcostarica.com

And we will do the typical stuff. Drinks, lay on the beach, etc. I think we will do a 10-14 day if we can. I really want to take advantage!

When are you leaving?
Not sure yet. Probably the following tuesday. flights are rumored to be cheapest on tuesdays.

What's so special about your honeymoon (other than the fact that you're now MARRIED and are on your HONEYMOON!)?
Well, I have never left the country. Not even Canada girls. So that will be a new experience for me. I am really excited. It will also be kind of like our first real vacation that didnt involve family.

Where are you going?
Maui!

What are your plans while you're there?
I'm not sure. FI is planning the whole thing and keeping it a secret! :) I think there will be snorkeling. And definitely some relaxing on the beach. And some, ya know... honeymoon stuff.

When are you leaving?
Monday after our Saturday wedding.

What's so special about your honeymoon?
Neither of us have ever been to Hawaii! And we're really looking forward to a vacation from work.

After our wedding, we're going to spend a few more days on Maui, but in a more remote part of the island, then over to Kauai for a week.

So far, our plans include snorkeling, a boat trip, a couples massage, a kayak trip up the Waimea River, a bike trip along the beach, naps, other stuff. :)

We're going to stay in a few different places so that we can really get a feel for the different parts of the islands and spend the time exploring them that they deserve. Also, we're staying oceanfront everywhere except the first night (which is on the beach, just not an oceanfront room).
