Moms - question

Is the topic of circumcision flammable over on TB?

I ask because Brother decided not to get Nephew circumcised. I don't have an issue with not getting your child circumcised as a general rule but I do hope that Baby Momma teaches the child how to bathe, etc, because if it's left up to Brother that kid will have infection after infection after infection.

BUT it did make me wonder how combustible a subject circumcision is.

I think it's in the way it's approached.  If people say "What did you do and why?" it stays pretty tame.  If it's "you're an idiot if you..."  I have seen the topic turn quickly.

In my experience, yes, it's very flammable.  I think people on both sides feel judged by the other side, which quickly puts everyone on the defensive.

  • It's definitely a slippery slope subject.

  • I got mad because I was told that I had sexually mutilated my son.  Seriously? I did my research and chose circumsize him.  I wasn't in my kitchen naked with a chainsaw.  That choice is a private one.  I don't go yelling at parents who chose to leave thier son uncut.  I expect the same respect.

    yep, flammable.

we debated and ultimately, never came to a conclusion becuase it wasn't necessary to do so.  But definately a  heated subject.

  • I live in new zealand, and we don't circumcise. I have never heard of any boy having "infection after infection", ever.
If you don't clean your belly button, does it get infected? No.
