Wedding Woes

i don't understand.

y'all know i follow the gifts and registering board (it's like the greed-o-meter).i don't understand all these posts about towel recommendations.  are towels something that you really plan to keep for a long, long time?  i understand -- you want them to be soft and fluffy and all that, but really, they are easily replaced and you're not suffering while you have them.

This reminds me of the Verizon Wireless commercial where the guy says, "Towels are kind of scratchy!"

Well, I hate towels that are so soft/fluffy that they just move the water around your body. But you can't tell if a towel is like that until you're trying to dry yourself with it, and then it's too late.

all of the "recommend your cookware!" posts totally grate on mah nerves.  it's a saucepan, not a magic wand.  i'm not buying someone a $235 all-clad saucepan so they can cook hamburger helper.

You're totally right hmo. If you need a recommendation on pots and pans, you clearly don't know enough to need nice pots and pans.

Another thing that annoys me about registries: people who register for fancy luggage. Are you stupid? There is no earthly reason someone who travels once a year on a week long cruise needs $2k of Tumi luggage. Hell, I don't even carry a Tumi bag. My $60 Samsonite carryon has lasted me for 2 years at this job and I am/was gone a lot.
