Kickboxing

A few months ago one of my bridesmaids and I bought a groupon for a kickboxing class. I think it is 10 classes for $50. Have any of you ladies done a real kickboxing class? All I've done is at the YMCA and I don't consider that real lol. In the next week or so I'll be starting that class on top of Brazil Butt Lift. I need to start kicking up my fitness (and eating better!) routines... only 67 days left!!

What are you ladies doing ot get in shape for the wedding?

  • Eating better is the biggest thing for me

Workouts- Generally look like this (there is some variation, like this week instead of 3 PT days I have 1 30 minute session and 1 hour session)
Monday- 30 Minutes core, 30 minutes cardio, 30 minutes PT
Tuesday- Swim 1-1.5 Hours 3,500+ Yards
Wednesday- 30 minutes core, 30 minutes cardio, 30 minutes PT
Thursday- 30 minutes core, 30 minutes cardio, 30 minutes PT
Friday- 101.5 Hours Swimming or running

Sat and Sun are off. If I feel like doing something I will pop in a short workout video.

  • Eating better and reducing the alcohol intake.  I  thoroughly enjoy a glass of wine with dinner but I know that is not the best for my diet.  I try to limit myself to twice a week.  Eating better also means mostly eating at home instead of eating out.

Definitely stepping up the workouts.  I try to bike to work 3 days a week it is 12.5 miles round trip.  I meet with a personal trainer once a week and also try to get in one other weight workout during the week.  With the weather getting nicer FI and I are hoping to do some hiking.  Thinking about doing Cougar or Tiger Mountain this weekend.

I'm doing a high protein eating program called Ideal Protein - I've lost 31 lbs in 7 weeks! I feel great! The program is through my chiro and isn't cheap, but it's working well so I'm sticking with it. I also haven't bought my dress yet, so I have the ability to diet/exercise a lot more than some on here :)

  • my diet and exercise isn't/wasn't for the wedding, it was for my life-long fitness/health goals.

I don't like kickboxing, but I did TKD for years so it makes that stuff look a little.. eh.. to me. I do enjoy BodyCombat though which is a Les Mills program that is based on martial arts. I think any group classes are overall great because they are fun, you usually burn between 300-900cal an hour, and you are motivated to go back.
My average week looks kinda like:
M-BodyStep/yoga in the am, Bodystep/yoga in the pm
T-BodyCombat and lifting for two muscle groups
W-BodyStep/yoga in the am and a xfit/circuit fusion class with yoga in the pm
    Th-BodyPump/BodyCombat in the pm
    F-Core class, run 4ish miles
S-Yoga, Circuit in the am, maybe lifting if I don't do circuit
Su-Rest if I need it or "leftovers" day.

Abs are made in the kitchen, though.
I'm 5'8 and 16% body fat and still had just "okay" abs until I fixed my diet. That's where the real fat loss comes from.
I don't eat refined sugars and RARELY eat refined grains (in fact, the only time I honestly eat grain is when I crave a pizza :P )
My diet is about 90%veggies, fruits, nuts and 10% meat/eggs/seeds (such as quinoa)

Cut the crap out, and you'll see results.

</div><div>FTL you are very right about cutting out the crap. It is a constant progress for me to grab the veggies fruits and nuts before some other junk food. We only have that in the house because FI LOVES that stuff. He'd never get any veggies at all if I didn't cook them into whatever we eat for dinner. </div><div>Speaking of veggies, I am going to be checking out a new farmers market in the area this week, I am rather excited to do that, I was using FCF but I think I will enjoy the farmers market. We'll see!</div>
