Ceremony location? Tacoma downtown.

Hi everyone.

We pretty much have things planned out nicely. Low stress and everything. However we keep running into problems with the actual ceremony piece. We just want that part to be us and our parents. Maybe the girls and guys we had originally picked for our bridal party before we decided to do things so much smaller.

Basically we want to say a few short and sweet words and sign paperwork.  So I don't want to spend much. I just need a good "spot". I would like to stay in downtown because we are having brunch immediately after at the Murano. Does anyone have any ideas on just a quiet pretty spot? Free obviously is best....

Thank you!!

Amanda

Are you looking inside or outside?  What types of things interest you?  My thoughts....
Fireman's Park at 9th and A or Thea's Park along the Foss.  Perhaps a gathering at the sculptures at the Tacoma Art Museum in the back area, or along the esplanade.  There are a number of small parks around town as well (I work and live in Tacoma).,

I'd say it just depends on what your interests are and what kind of ambiance you're looking for. Ruston Way isn't that far from downtown and has beautiful parks as well; could even walk out to the end of the Les Davis Pier.

It looks like you're getting married in the middle of the week so you might consider asking if you can go inside Union Station (open to the public and free, I'd just make sure security for the federal building knew what you were doing). You might also see if the Pantages or Rialto would let you go inside and do it on the stage and there is a nice park near there as well (where the Farmer's Market is on Thursdays).

You might also check with the Murano and see if they have any reccomendations; their concierge should be able to help as well.  You could also contact the Downtown Tacoma website at http://downtowntacoma.com/ for ideas. Good luck!
