Finally a Check-Venue!

So after two months of looking and visiting over 12 venues FI and I finally have a date a venue! July 16, 2011 at Alderbrook Resort on Hood Canal! We are very excited, a little nervous about the location and room rates but we have some great ideas, let's just hope it all comes together! Thanks for all of the advice, tips and help along the way! Let the planning begin! :)

    We loved the Alderbrook! It was originally our primary choice for venue, but the distance proved to be too much for us, especially since 80% of our guest list is OOT.

    But it's soo beautiful.Are you thinking of renting the boat? We were thinking of that for our cocktail hour.

    We're thinking about the boat for our rehearsal dinner, but might end up changing it, well have to wait and see what works best for everyone. The location is pretty hard, that was the #1 worry we had and the room rates are through the roof! 

    Sarack were actually using my FSIL's sister, so i guess she will be an extended SIL once th wedding is over. She is great, Maleah Ahrens Photography. We will need to work on the DJ next as well......we heard Music De-Lite is good, he is also a preferred vendor at Alderbrook. Any other suggestions I would gladly take!

    Awesome! We just went to a wedding of a good friend there and had such an amazing time!! It is beautiful! Tip - as long as someone is in the pool by 10pm... They will never kick you out! We were in the pool until 2:00am the night of the rehearsal

    Oh and a tip - The "Waterfront Cotteges" are really expensive and the rooms are a little nicer! The cotteges have a full kitchen but other than that they are a little bit smaller... 

    Also I would not recommend suprising 2 members of your WP with the fact that you are cooking breakfast for everyone invited to the wedding at 7am!

    WOW! There are a few brides on here that share my date!
    Congrats! I had originally planned my wedding for THIS July but have pushed it back to next year. I loved Alderbrook! I would have booked there but wasn't quite big enough for my guest list. I know you will love it! It's very beautiful there! :)
