Wedding Woes

LONG i need to complain

about something that is none of my business but i find totally annoying.  dh is telling me most of this, but he doesn't want to discuss it.  he's like "it's just fyi, no more talking LALALALALALA."  no fun, you guys.anyhoo.christie and paul have been dating.  paul has long, long history of "being moody" (which, to me, is code for "selfish and immature").  christie quit awesome job to move to nowhereville where paul lives and work at a borders bookstore.  paul is driving christie nuts.  if they're at home (which is ALL THE TIME because paul "really doesn't feel like dealling with people, mmkay?"), paul insists that they talk.  christie can't watch tv or read a book because it really hurts paul's feelings, and they are wasting their time together if they are not talking.dh and i are friends with both.  they have cancelled on the last five outings because paul is working late.  i JUST found out from christie -- paul has flex hours.  as long as he bills a certain number of hours per week, he can work however long he wants.  it's not that he's working late, it's just he wants to spend time his way.  christie kind of wants to spend it doing fun things.christie just told us that paul is gaining serious weight.  as in, he's not becoming housebound obese, but he gets home, puts a pound of pasta in some water, and eats the whole thing with ragu.  1) gross.  2) that's a very large amount of food.  paul has apparently gained almost 50 pounds.  that's a lot in a little amount of time.christie is having "come to Jesus" talk #3 with paul this weekend, because it's only monday and paul already is going to have to work late this weekend. i know IT'S OBVIOUS paul is tres depressed.  paul knows it too, but he just "doesn't feel like" taking meds all the time.  christie is insisting, "it's not all the time; it's once a day and it prevents your murder."  any advice?  thoughts?  further discussion?

I'm wondering when you'll tell us that she's having "come to Jesus" talk #4, #5, etc etc etc.

Christie sounds like she has her own issues. I got really hung up at christie quit awesome job to move to nowhereville where paul lives and work at a borders bookstore. When I was finally able to continue, all I could see is that Christie allows Paul to act this way. It's not a real Come to Jesus talk if three of them are required to get a point across.

he was on prescriptive antidepressents.  he quit taking them -- ON A WHIM, basically -- a few weeks ago. christie quit awesome job because it was in paris (i know, right?  that's why i call it "awesome job").  she and paul have been trying to get together for about 10 years and the timing has finally worked out -- they are both not seeing anyone, they finally felt ready, etc.  yes, they love drama, thank you for asking.

Pretty sure there is no point in talking about it between us, which also goes for them as well.  They are idiots that deserve each other.

DH and I had a come to jesus talk when he decided to go off of his medication on a whim.  It was me politely asking him not to do it, b/c X is the consequence and we didn't like that.  X happened, I was in the midst of packing bags to go stay at parents when he went and bought his medicine and put a reminder on his Google calendar on when to reorder his medicine (it's a controlled substance that he has to call it, can't be automatic). That's how you have a come to jesus talk with someone like that.  She's doing it wrong.

P.S. Please to be telling your husband not to tell you things like this and not expect discussion. That's like giving a creackhead money and telling them not to buy drugs.

it's just fyi, no more talking LALALALALALA." no fun, you guys.H does this to me and it drives me batty. Mad Men watchers - remember the scene where Joan's H comes home drunk, tell her he'll never be a surgeon unless they move to Alabama and peace outs....that's what happened in the MinM house.Back to hmo - Dude needs to be on his meds. H and I discuss my meds and I ask for his advice before the doctor, because (while I wish it were true), I don't spend as much time with Dr. Hott Sexxx as I do H. Weight gain is a big indicator of depression, especially if it is more then 15% of his starting point and I'm guessing it is...

I was on WW a year ago. Also, a weight loss of 15% or more is cause for concern, so when docs see I have lost weight they are all "ZOMG SHE HAS THE DEPRESSION!" and I say no, I ate out of boredom and now I am trying to get back to where I was when I moved here a year ago. Flip back a few pages on the chart, @ss. Oh, excuse me, Dr. @ss.

Did he gain 50 lbs in the 2 weeks he's been off of the meds?  The timing isn't quite adding up.  I wonder if the meds weren't being effective even before he quit taking them.  FYI- if there is a Border's it's not really nowhereville.  That place only has a Christian bookstore.
