Wedding Woes

Taw

I implore you - DO NOT go to Disney during the summer. It will be horrifically hot. It will rain every afternoon. Not to mention, it will be crowded beyond belief. Trust me, go October - April, not May - September.

We were looking at July or August because we didn't really want to take Son out of school. I'll mention it to DH and see what he thinks.  I'm all for going at a cooler time but I just don't know about the school thing.

It is tough to pull a kid out of school, but it will make it all the better to go at a less hot and less crowded time of year.

I pulled my oldest 2 out of school to go in Nov. and it was the best ever! We got to walk right by all of those signs that say wait is 2 hours from this point. If you go mid-summer you are lucky to go on half the rides you want because of the wait. Also in early Nov. the weather was perfect, warm but not hot. The whole trip was great.

That would be awesome!  We'd have to get biomom to agree to it though, which I doubt would happen since it cuts into the "quality" time she spends with him.

Whenever you go, use tourguidemike.com  I know a lot of families that swear by this for planning their Disney vacation.  You can enter in the ages and interests of your kids and it will tell you when to do what for maximum vacationing.

I am a lurker here, but I wanted to offer some recent experience.  I have gone to Disney previously in the summer, and it was miserable. This time I took 2 children out of school and went from 9/12 to 9/19 this year.   Absolutely no crowds - the longest wait we had was 10 minutes.   We had the opportunity to ride our favorite rides multiple times.Unfortunately, it was still pretty hot and humid, but the Floridians said it was unusually warm for this time of year.Highlight was Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party - well worth the extra money.

To make you feel better- My brother has taken his family twice during the summer and my sister did it once.  Sure it would have been nice if it was cooler, but they survived and had a great time.

Seriously, the offer stands and the Taw family is welcome in the Leg home any day. :)
