I want my mixer before Thanksgiving, b/c some of the recipes I have it would be muy convenient for.It's $299.  Amazon lists for $269.  With a BBB coupon I could get it for $240.  I'm aghast at spending this much money for a kitchen tool, even though I would use it, I truly believe.  I best offered EBay seller $200.  $200 sits with me better.  The Ebay seller just countered me with $230, free S&H.Yes?  No?  Counter the counter?

hmmm. Is it new? I'd spend the extra few bucks for a BBB one. That one's safer and you can return it easily if there's a problem.

New.  99.8% rating on seller, close to 5000 sales.I won't have to pay tax though, so BBB is around 255 with tax.

I would likely go with the new one.I would honestly be concerned about something going wrong with the one off of Ebay and having issues getting it returned, money back, etc.At least with BBB, you are dealing with a national chain, a little easier with issues.

4-9 business days, free shipping and handling.  So, it'd be $230 flat.Logically, I know it's just $15 separating.  But it's $15 on TOP of $230.Oh also, BBB doesn't carry the color I want.  I forgot about that.  It's why I'm hesitating about BBB more than anything.  I'm a kitchen beebee.

I meant ask the store if they'll give you free shipping.  You never know they might. It seems like a lot of money, but really you're going to have this thing for at least 15 years.  That's a dollar a year.  Not even a penny a day.  It's worth it.

I'm not sure, just last time I was in there looking at attachments there was a book attached to the mixer that said "we'll special order in any color." I already have one, so I didn't look any further than that

See, when I look at the Kitchenaid mixers available in different colors, they have an option to choose another color.  When I look at the Cuisinart I want, they even say in the description that it's chrome and no options to choose another color.  The one I looked at in the store, was even that color.  I don't think they carry the black one.Grr.  I need to ask DH first anyway.  We agreed to do the $200 and take it from there.

Yeah, that's what I figured.  I want the Cuisinart, b/c it has nearly triple the motor wattage for the same price as the Kitchenaid.  It also has additional features and takes care of some problems the Kitchenaid users complains about.

V, if it makes you feel better, my KA was over $400 on sale. $230 is a steal for those small ones - though you may want to check WalMart if you're really cheap, because I've seen them under $200.

I don't think I'd use the bigger ones, BMom.  I think the 5 quart will be plenty large for me, it's just DH and I and it'll be mostly for bread and cooking, rather than dessert making.IDK if it makes me feel better or not!  ;)I just need to sh!te or get off the pot at this point.
