Wedding Woes

S/o hambone

I made a spiral sliced ham Sunday ($1.49/lb).  I have the bone left, but don't know what to do with it.  I hate bean soup, so any other ideas?

  • Oh and chicken stock.  I want to make my own, is it as easy as it sounds?  What do I do with the veggies?
  • Stock is as easy as it sounds. You toss the veggies (or stick them in the compost pile). But you also don't peel or chop them or anything - just toss them in with the chicken carcass.I wrap everything in cheesecloth, so I just have to pull out a little bundle and throw it out, then strain the stock, cool and skim the fat, then freeze.
