Bridesmaid madness

So....being the impulsive all inclusive person that I am I went ahead and started choosing bridesmaids (and asking them) already even though my wedding is about two years out. What do you do when you realize you don't really want one of the girls that you've already asked to be in your wedding party? Grin and bear it? Or find a way to somehow politely break it to them? I need answers... Also, is having 7 bridesmaids a bit excessive?

Re: Bridesmaid madness

  • You've asked them, you're stuck with them - unless one of them drops out on her own.
  • Grin and bear it. That's what you get for jumping the gun. You cannot fire your BM if you care to keep that person as a friend.Seven seems like a lot but you can have as few or as many as you want, no one really cares.

  • two years is a long time. Maybe she'll forget you asked her.

  • *sigh* You're stuck with her, unless you don't want to be her friend. But good Lord, in 2 years you may not have the same groom anymore.
    ..
  • The wedding is two years out.  What if you like her again a year from now?  Or maybe she'll hate you too by then and drop out on her own?  Don't worry about it right now.  Two years out is too early to be choosing bms, but it is also too early to be firing them.Seven, two, thirty-three, zero, whatever you want to do.

  • 21 and indecisive. That doesn't bode well in general.
  • your interests include right now?  really?

  • I figured as much...even if someone had presented a way to "fire" her I really don't think I could've gone through with it. Mainly there are other girls that mean alot more to me that I have not asked yet and my FI prefers I don't ask because he feels that 7 bridesmaids is insane....I disagree, but whatever. And on my profile, there are other aspects about me other than indecisiveness. I was just rushing through the profile because I was more interested in asking my question.
  • hmmm yeah...right now was supposed to come at the beginning....weird
  • Now I have Van Halen in ma head.  Thanks Hmo.
  • 7 bridesmaids is excessive.

  • I had 7 bridesmaids (looking back I wouldn't have felt obligated to include H's sisters though).
