I was disappointed

We were discussing (for some unknown reason) rape, and the subject of women raping men came up. Half the women in the room were all "that can't happen"It was sad that people still believe that.

Re: I was disappointed

  • Indeed. Sure, it's difficult and takes a lot weirder circumstances than it does for men to rape, but it can still happen. Law and Order says so.

  • Whatever.I was watching Tyra (yes, I did it) and her topic was women who beat their boyfriends.  You know some people were all "oh that man is just a pvssy", but that woman was MEAN.  And he took it.  Ugh.

  • I had a male friend that that happened to O (the beating, not the rape)I asked him about it after he left her and his response was, "Well, it's not like I could hit her back..."Which, I can see. Men are taught never ever ever hit a woman, but at some point you have to fight back. If that means restraining her until she calms down, fine. If that means calling the cops? Swallow your pride and do it.
  • These are probably the same people that laugh at me when I say "sexual harassment is not limited to men harassing women, women can harass men, men can harass other men, women can harass other women" during our harassment prevention training.

  • Yea, probably. I made some comment about how sometimes people have a sexual reaction even if they're saying no, which was met with laughter and "yea right"s Luckily I was backed up by a very angry person saying, "So, if a woman is raped after she was sexually aroused, it's not really rape? Is that what you're trying to say?"Then we changed the topic. Too heavy for 9AM.
