Coirker is responsible for our petty cash and buying supplies. Our accounting lady keeps track of the $ out and the receipts in. Before I left for AZ, we were low on supplies and it was at the end of the month. Coirker put in a request for more supplies and I approved it w/accounting lady. Ffwd to Friday. Coirker was out, but I noticed we were *still* out of supplies. No plates, forks, spoons, Coke, etc. So yesterday, I asked Coirker for the petty cash and receipts b/c I was going to buy supplies on Weds. at Sam's. For reals, we're missing $30. I asked her twice if she'd given me all of the receipts and if I had all of the $. She has nothing more to give/tell me. But she's been hella guilty and nervous around me. The partners discussed it last night, so IDK what's going to happen with her. I know I caught her off guard. She probably dips into the firm petty cash for her own items and reimburses it at pay day to ensure the cash and receipts balance out. I want to give her some credit, but numbers are numbers and we're $30 short. And we're still out of supplies. Why jeopardize your job for $30?
