Okay, last call for help

DH's Birthday Menu:Potato, Cucumber, adn Tomato RaitaChicken Tikka MasalaIndian Spieced Rice Pilaf with Datse and ParsleyGoat Cheese-Onion NaanHe doesn't like cake.  I don't know any Indian desserts and the websites I'm looking at they look OMG difficult.  So 2 questions:Are pears in season?  B/c he loves pears and I could do a poached pear which is really easy.Or other suggestions?  I'm open to buying something, but we're not huge sweet fans and I'd like something that kinda fit in the with them.Yes, I did consider a EABOD cookie cake.

Oooo, HMonkey, you are awesome sauce.  I think I can find whole vanilla beans.  I'll have to substitute ground cardamon, I'm almost postive, but I think as long as I'm careful and taste along teh way, it should work.

That sounds amazing.  I like the idea of the cardamom pudding.  I may have to make that since I have a crapload of cardamom pods.
