I will always wear a camisole or a tank top under a button down. Even with the right cut/fit, the boobs will often times make gaps.

Yeah, you should always wear a cami or something under a button down shirt, no matter how much you think it's not going to gap.

Yes, depending on the shirt I wear a tank or a shorter sleeved shirt underneath.

I don't wear button down shirts because they generally require ironing, and I hate ironing. When I did for waiting tables, Hells NO! It was hot enough without an extra layer + nips helps tips (EVERYONE knows that!).

i also tuck that underlayer into my underwears to diy a bodysuit.  that has mostly good results.  sometimes when i am wearing my beloved giant granny underwears, this combo creeps past my waistband.  luckily, most of the time i am wearing something giant and shapeless so no one notices.

I wear tanks under just about everything. It helps keep me contained and less jiggly, especially in the breasticle area. I also buy mostly low-cut shirts, because I have a tiny neck, and tanks help me not flash the goods.

All ov you are hussies. My shirts are never unbuttoned to a point where you can see my undergarments!

Interesting. I never wear stuff under button-downs.  Maybe I will need to consider this when I get my regular wardrobe back.

hooka, it's not that the shirt was unbuttoned; the shirt was gapping open between the buttons and the cross your heart was visisble.

...No. It's bad enough to wear a button-down sleeved shirt in Miami without adding another layer.

Only if it is one that has a low starting first button. Otherwise I buy ones that fit so there are no gaps. I hate button down shirts though, I always feel like a man.

I don't wear button downs. There always gap-age when I wear them and I can't find a button down that doesn't gap and doesn't swim on the rest of my body.

It's called a tailor, Meg. I have the same problem (interestingly enough), and I just take in the torso of the shirts. But, I still get gapping when I move, because, you know, things move. I also only have like 2 button downs. Knits are so much easier.

No.  I never noticed this being an issue for me.

Ha. You know me so well.   I can't do button down shirts lately. The girls are out of control at the moment, and I have gaps too. I have worn something underneath, but I still get gaps.

BMom, it's not worth it. I'd rather throw on a sweater anyways. If I have button downs, I wear them underneath other things.

Either I don't get gaps (often) or I just don't NOTICE gaps often and show off my bras to the world.Because, other than the '2 bra/camisole time of the month', nope, I wear button downs nearly every day and don't layer.

I don't own a single button down shirt because of the boob issue.  If I buy a shirt big enough that it won't gap, it is also big enough to fit one to three basketballs under and is generally unattractive (although great for shop lifting).
