WDWWT?

Read the post below.  All of the responses are generally the same except for one.  Now the OP allegedly has cancer (I say allegedly b/c I don't know her IRL and don't trust people of the interwebz for the most part).  I'm wondering if that's playing into why no one reacted differently.  Personally, there's something about the OP that really bothers me.  I think b/c I believe she had a different handle and there was a HUGE scandal with her and then she changed it and no one has picked up on the fact that her story and scandal chick's are quite similar. So Im asking you ladies :)BM and DH had a one night stand when BM was 16 and DH was 19.  BM didnt tell DH about the baby for a very long time (she was 17 when she had her and DH didnt know he was the dad until she was 8, although he knew that she was pregnant/baby when he was 19)  How did the BM's mother (grandma) not pursue Statutory rape charges if she was 16 and DH was 19?? This took place in Massachusetts if that helps. Is it because there was no proof (no paternity test, DH not on the birth certificate) or what?Grandma is a slimy, super rich, sleazeball so I know she had an awesome attorney (especially when they went to court for the paternity, child support, etc.) and the money to pursue it if she wanted. I really thought she woulda pushed that!  Just curious because I've always wondered that but never wanted to ask. haha, killing time on here answering posts until I start the meds! Everytime one of my sisters pulled something (got arrested, suspended from school, etc), she got SUPER embarassed and her first instinct was always to ignore/cover up.  ReportReply Quote Contact11-11-2009 at 5:21 PMJ+RNot RankedJoined on 06-26-20081,755 Posts33,689 PointsJ+R is online. Last active: 11-12-2009, 9:31 AMBronze    Maybe? I would have assumed that grandma would have wanted to blame someone, ANYONE for her precious innocent 16 yr old getting knocked up... BM flat out refused to have DH take a paternity test or put him on the B.C. Thats why DH didnt know for so long... So maybe without BM allowing that (even though she would tell people that he was the dad... then change her story to it wasnt...)  I dunno?Diagnosed w/ a rare form of Leukemia in June 2009, strongly optimistic!"Let me throw one more dice, I know I can win. Last active: 11-12-2009, 9:30 AMNewbie    I'm not sure about Mass. but here in Ohio its not statutory rape, or rather it would be "unlawful sexual conduct with a minor". Between the legal age of consent there can be a less than 4 year age difference and it still be "legal".I can only recite Ohio law, but I imagine its probably somewhat close seeing as how the age of consent is usually around the same age in most states. So the reason why she probably didn't push it was because she wasn't able to get anywhere with it! ReportReply Quote Contact11-11-2009 at 9:29 PMJ+RNot RankedJoined on 06-26-20081,755 Posts33,689 PointsJ+R is online. • She dd'd?  I have it in entirety if anyone wants it.
    image
  • She must have deleted it. Here's the gist of the post: Chick's DH was 19, dating a 16 yo girl. Girl gets knocked up and has baby when she's 17. DH knew she was pregnant, did not know it was his until the child was 8. Grandma is super rich, could have gone after DH for money, etc. Why didn't Grandma go after DH for statuatory rape?People told her it's because it wasn't really rape. One person told her that she was an idiot for posting that. OP has signature saying she has rare leukemia and had a miscarriage (with sounds a little drama llama AW-y).Personally, she's an idiot posting it. And why would the Grandma go after some idiot 19 yo? Other than throwing him into jail, what's she going to get? ADURR.
  • I kept reading BM as bridesmaid.
  • I don't get why she would share.  It's a little weird to me.
    image
  • Me, too, Taw.WTH is her problem?  Who sits around wondering if her H's teenage escapades could've been statutory rape and why wasn't he prosecuted for it?!  I have better schit to do during the day.

  • OP has signature saying she has rare leukemia and had a miscarriage (with sounds a little drama llama AW-y).It wasn't a miscarriage per se...She supposedly found almost simultaneously that she had cancer and KU.  Her Dr's suggested that carrying the baby to term was not a good idea.  She followed their advice. BUT, she was supposedly trying and trying and trying to get KU and they never did and then she supposedly found out that she had cancer and was KU...And the stories all just fit together a little too neatly for me not to raise an eyebrow.
  • And there's a part of me that feels bad for being such a skeptic about it because it could all be true, but there's something about her that just doesn't sit right.  And when she was trying to get KU before she was diagnosed with cancer, she had a blinky in her siggy that said "Come on spermies, you can do it."  And that annoyed the schit out of me.
  • I saw that earlier and thought it was odd.  It's definitely not something I would post on the internet.
  • I understand sharing troubles, life stuff, but sometimes TMI is just that.  TMI

  • It's still AWy in a sense. I don't have a problem with people who put stuff in their signature about a miscarriage. Everyone grieves in a certain way, but like you said..something just rubs me the wrong way. I feel like the leukemia thing and the miscarriage thing just opens her up for someone to say "oh no, you poor thing" which is what she wants. The whole post has this underlying feeling like she wants drama/attention in her life.
