How much to give

to the building collections for the house keeping staff (of 2) x-mas gift. I told H about the collections. Please note, he works in another building exactly like the one I am in, a few blocks away. HIS cleaning people vacuum daily and scrub the stairs. We get our floor vacuumed MAYBE once a week and never have I seen anything scrubbed.After I found out that we are getting less intense cleaning, I don't want to give as much.

Four floors worth of people will potentially contribute. I know The Ogre won't give anything. I was thinking of $5. That is generally what I contribute to these things. I do like the ladies....but I want my stairs scrubbed (not dirty).

Is it bad that my first thought was "they work for the same company as me, why would I give them something?" I guess that's because 50% of our workforce is in manufacturing so they don't make much more than minimum wage and there's no way I could contribute to all of them. That being said, I'd give $2.
