Wedding Woes

s/o staying at someone's house

FI always ALWAYS brings towels. And, I'm not talking Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, one towel, just in case. He brings enough for the stay. He also brings his own TP. Would you be insulted if your guest pulled out their own towels?

Re: s/o staying at someone's house

  • I think I would be, yeah.  Maybe if I were still in college I'd understand the "maybe you don't have extra" thought. But ever since graduation (and even before), I had at least one extra towel for a guest.

  • I would be a little insulted.  and huge side eye to bringing your own TP

  • His own TP?  Does he have special needs? If I knew my guest had allergies that made them sensative to most detergents or something I wouldn't be offended.  Otherwise I might be slightly offended that I can't be trusted to provide clean towels.  Or I would wonder what was wrong with the towels on your last visit that made you want to bring your own.

  • I wouldn't be insulted, no, but I would rush right on here and tell you all about my uber-eccentric guest with the finicky anus.

  • I think they'd be insulted after I laughed at them.
  • Not insulted, but I'd certainly raise an eyebrow.
  • He's super picky about his TP, and the towel thing - he doesn't want to burden anybody by using their towels. Unless it's hotel towels, and then he's iffy about the detergent and sure the tp will suck, but really... I have told him it's offensive.
  • I had no idea this would be considered offensive. I always bring my own towels. I always thought I was being as small of a burden as possible...My bad.
