S/O Tough Love (hmo, et al.)

Career woman, I forget her name. When Steve was all, "I'd already think you'd have a husband/boyfriend/relationship based on how you're dressed."WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?I ask because 1) I didn't see a problem with how she looked and 2) Men have told me this time and time again. She was wearing a pair of jeans, a flowy-ish top with what appeared to be a camisole underneath. The outfit seemed fine.

She's so reserved, in looks and in demeanor.  She appears and acts taken.

I don't know the why of this and I don't think I can explain it to you, but I know what he means.

I wondered the same thing. Her outfit was cute, modest, and age appropriate. I think he meant she didn't have her t1ts hanging out of a shapeless sundress like 32 yo party girl.

TD, I was WTFing @ him saying the strapless sundress was ok. Um, no, it's not ok without a proper foundation and real shoes!

A strapless sundress is okay if you wear it properly and in the proper setting.

I don't know that he said it was okay.  I think he was more like, Look, they're going to look at your tits.  I think he should've been like, And as the 32 year old party girl, they ain't that hot anymore. It's what happens when all you have in your closet is professional work clothes and you use them as going out clothes too.  Yeah, they are cute and maybe even a little sassy for work, but they're not for a party.  Jazz it up a bit, cut it a bit higher/lower, get some great accessories that wouldn't fly in the office. Her demeanor has a lot to do with it too.  She appears so reserved when meeting men instead of acting interested in them.  While she was doing the speed dating, all I could think of was, "She's networking."

o-face, A strapless sundress can be appropriate if it fits right. THAT strapless sundress was not.

that sundress was awful.  i love an empire waist that makes my legs seem long, but that one just looked like her bewbs were resting on her stomach.

  • While she was doing the speed dating, all I could think of was, "She's networking."This exactly. It was all in her handshake and introduction. Very professional. You could tell she was very comfortable in doing so, because she likely does it all the time (as networking). As far as the clothes go, yes, mix it up a bit. Everything was just too safe, or something. She strikes me as too safe. Not like Jody, who was married to her work but also a basket case. I think she really was baffled at what he said, like those clothes were taking a risk for her, b/c she wasn't in a suit.

It's ok to be reserved. You don't have to be all, "ZOMGZ you is da hotness." She shook their hands, introduced herself and said it was nice to meet them. SHE'D NEVER MET THIS MEN BEFORE! That seemed proper.

Right, but she wasn't engaging at all.  She didn't seem to put herself out there, ask a lot of questions or flirt (not stupid Southern Belle whatever her name is style either.  There's appropriate flirting and there are some men there I would've flirted with hard back in the day).  I mean, it's a DATING SHOW, they're men who've been vetted and want to DATE.  It's not like they're scary men who might slip a roofie into her drink.

i don't have an issue with what tina was wearing.  but she seemed to be drawing the line at "nice to meet you" and not moving further.

  • She's just so reserved that she never takes herself out of "work mode."

I'm not overlooking the *crickets* part after the intro. That was just weird. Even if you're networking, you talk. It was just odd that her outfit made her look taken.

I don't understand how anything other than a wedding/engagement ring, or a pregnant belly make you appear taken. But, then again, I don't have either and am taken so I probably dress taken as well.
