i need to complain.

i've complained about this before, and it's that time of year again: dh's one high school friend is in town, and i was forced into dinner and nicey nice with him.  what a stupid mistake. 

first, my dinner was not good.  we went to my favorite restuarant, and i ordered ribs.  the ribs were very fatty, not much meat.  probably the only bad meal i've ever had there, and i was sad.

second, idiot talked and talked and talked about his favorite topics: himself, how awesome he is, and how blessed are those who know him.  dh doesn't see it at all, and thinks i am nuts.  i think maybe dh has some kind of drug/alcohol problem, or he has autism or something.

third, whenever i made an effort to contribute to the conversation, idiot either interrupted or made some remark to dh, totally "btches be trippin, amirite?"  i regret promising to dh that i would be nice to him.  but i DID NOT promise to be nice to dh, who got an earful when we got home.  luckily, he only has to hear this once a year.

hope sleeping in the car was nice for him.

That guy sounds like a rough person but it's nice to be understanding. I am sure he had fun and so did your husband and he sounds like an old friend. Sometimes we need to work on maintinaing old friendships.
