I need to block tv shows like Tanked and forbid him from going to aquariums.

He has always wanted a saltwater tank.  NBD, they're a lot of work so we decided to wait a few years.  We already own 3 55 gal tanks (we used to keep piranha) and they're in our basement storage room.  They'll look really nice once we're ready for the extra responsibility.

Now he wants a ray.  And a shark.  Oh, and an octopus would be cool.  < all of these are things that would need to be kept separately and would require tanks of at least 180 gal.  Not going to happen in this house, especially the ray, since the ones he likes are venomous.

Oh, and do you know how intelligent an octopus is?  They can escape their tanks.  A smart spider that lives under water?  Btch, please.

dude, the kickin pet-store near me that has the super-experts for 100 miles on saltwater animals has their octopus in 3 nested tanks because the sucker escapes...he can't haev an octopus.

Although a tiny shark would be cool :-P

H doesn't have this particular dream, but I'm surprised that he doesn't.  Maybe he is saving this one for me to crush on a rainy day.

Tell him that the octopus will crawl out and then impregnante his mouth while he sleeps.

Sharks never stop growing either.  They will continue to grow and grow and get larger and larger. 

I have a distinct hate of fish tanks.  They're silly to me.  Oh, yes pretty...but?  And AND, I had that damn lobster that crawled out of a tank.  That is enough scary for me, thanks.

DK wants a saltwater tank, too, but he's not ambitious enough to want an octopus.
