The dress I am HIGHLY considering! but....

I LOVE this dress....however it's a little outside of my budget. My mom said she would pay the differance and for the alterations but Davids Bridal wants to charge up to $400 for the alterations! Is there a less expensive good quality place to take it for alterations? What's everyone's opinions?

i think once you purchase the dress you can alterations anywhere you want.  most dry cleaners have seamstresses on hand to do alterations (i've had BM dresses altered at one before and just a regular dress as well).  So i would just call around and try to get some loose quotes.  i don't have much experience with DB, but i have heard from others on my june 2012 board that their alterations are more expensive than most.  mine are only $75 from the salon i bought my dress from (to take it in and add a bustle).  sorry i don't have more specifics!

I agree with pp's.  You can definitely take your dress somewhere other than David's Bridal for a way better price.  I took my dress to Debra Hedeen in Ballard, phone #: (206) 782-1854.

yeah.. I had my DB dress altered at a local place for 25 bucks. I just went to a dry cleaners (Mindys in Mount Vernon) and she is this adorable little woman that is a killer seamstress.
