Wedding Woes

Problems with Etsy. (Rant.)

Did any of you have issues with Etsy ?

I've gotten some wonderful things for the wedding there, but I keep getting screwed over in the process.

First, the person making my very costly invitations (Over $200, for 30!!!!!) ended up dropping communication after payment, and I had to fight through with etsy and paypal (and ended up feeling like a doucher) to get them before it got too late. Thankfully, after I opened a case 35 days after I made payment, she finally shipped them.

Now, the wonderful lady who is making the msot adorable programs ever, has now dropped communication. She kept making excuses to delay the process, saying she didn't like the way the glue set so she had to start over, or the confetti guy (programs have a little envelope for confetti. Heartbreakingly cute.) she bought all the confetti from hasn't sent out the confetti, then it was the confetti guy bought a different "brand" and its taking longer to ship, and then now I just haven't heard a damn thing in about a week. And its getting inchingly closer to the 45 day mark (after 45 days you can no longer open a case should you have to, and paypal wont refund your money) and I'm nervous.

I'm too much of a nice person to open cases. I always feel bad. And this lady is so nice! But she's new to etsy, and doesn't have any feedback, so I'm still taking a risk.

ugh.

Just ranty.

Sorry if none of that made sense.

it sounds like you need to open another dispute.

    also, "Calix Acheron"? seriously? WTF?
  • It's not a problem with Etsy.  It is a problem with random strangers on the interwebz.  This is like complaining about all neighbors everywhere because your neighbor is a jerk.

Did these people have great reviews before you hired them?  And what kind of magical confetti is this woman waiting for?  Tell her to buy a hole puncher and go nuts on her junk mail.

I just a friendly gal looking for options.

why do you feel badly? why are you nervous? you think they have a right to take your money without giving you the services you paid for?

i hope this personality trait doesn't carry over into your real life. people will take advantage of that. open a case.

and this is what feedback is for. leave your appropriate feedback so other people know what to expect. ALSO, make sure you communicate porperly, and don't be too nice and wait too long.
