Need a caterer on Whidbey Island - advice please! :)

30-40 people on Whidbey Island in June of 2012.  Budget is $2000 total (including fees, tax, etc).  I thought that would be viable - estimating 50-65/head.  But maybe I'm wrong?

Fireseed was nice, but said they only do catering for their venues.
Gordon's returned my first call, took a message, and didn't call back.  I called one more time, no return call.
Magic Kitchen replied with an email that they would send a menu, but didn't.
Herban Feast said they couldn't work with my budget, as their buffet starts at $28/head and only having $50-65 head total would be insufficient.

Can anyone help with ideas?

Thank you!

We're a whidbey couple too!!! Check out avenue bistro in mount vernon. They will travel to oak harbor area and are fantastic! We LOVED them and their prices are between 20-30/pp  Their 20 buck option is so yummy :)

Some other catering ideas are Serendipity up in Coupeville.  The Bayleaf which is also in Coupeville.does an on site paella that may fit theme or budget.  I have seen people use the traveling BBQ companies or there is a mobile wood fired pizza company that comes out of Seattle.  I know that it does always come down to budgeting and it can be harder to find available caterers for parties under 100 but it is possible and the Island is a beautiful place to get married.  Good Luck.
