DOC or not?

I am considering hiring a day of cordinator after experiancing a very unorganized hectic wedding that I was in recently. I want to have a relaxing day and enjoy all the details as much as possible. Not be running around trying to make sure the centerpieces are right or making sure we get all the photos done in the 6 hrs we have her and everything else. However with a budget of 10k I am not sure if it is worth it. Anyone have any regrets about hiring one? Like maybe it wasnt as stressful as they thought and probably could have done without one? (I have probably 100-150 people coming fyi) Or was it totally worth it and you have a good reccomendation and approximate price?

I had a DOC and she was well worth it. I didn't want the hassle of having to deal with anything on my wedding day. Nor did I want my mother or BM having that stress. My DOC helped with my wedding timeline. I provided her my first draft, and she help tweak it so the day would run smooth. I also gave my DOC a detailed map and write-up about how I wanted decor to look, and she did it all as I asked. She set up the reception site, and worked closely with the DJ to ensure the events of the night went off without a hitch! She also offered amazing recommendations for other vendors.

When it comes to a budget there are some catering companies, venue sites, or DJ's that do wedding planning on top of their other duties. That could be a way to save money and keep within in your budget.

We had a 10k budget for our wedding as well. Luckily I have a very good friend who has teetered on the idea of DOC for a while and she offered to be that person for me. She did an AMAZING job and has since been coordinating a few weddings this summer. She was a life saver, she kept us on our schedule, took care of all the behind the scenes things and if anything went wrong I didnt know about it :) If you are intersted in discussing a fee with her you can email her at niferguson@hotmail.com. Her name is Nicole.

She is still portfolio building so she has a much lesser fee than more established, but I promise she will not dissapoint you!
