Round one, done!

I just got home from my first chemo treatment. Talk about anti-climactic; I sat in a chair for 7 hours. I did some kitting, dozed a little, read a book, and easedropped on other people's conversations. The chemo room is like a black hair salon; those were some gossipping hens. Everyone could tell I was a "newbie" cause I still have all my hair. I got made fun of a little, but everyone was really nice. All in all, it was a decent experience.

Speaking of hair, though, it's likely that I'll chop it all off this weekend. DH is going to do it for me; he used to cut hair in college. We're all excited about it.

So, Operation Kick Cancer's Ass has begun. I'm going to take a nap now; we got up at the crack o'dawn this morning. I'll check in periodically and let y'all know how I'm doing.

Start telling them goat mass/monkey paw/porn tile stories, and I'm sure they'll love you to pieces. ;)

Glad it all went... uneventfully. Score: WW-1, Cancer-0

Congratulations on Round one done!! I hope they have comfy chairs for you to sit in! My Mom and I used to play cards during her chemo treatments!

Good luck with the chopping of the hair. I know that's really hard because it's a phsycal reminder. Just remember that it grows back and chemo hair is always lucious and lovely when it grows back. Plus you can try out different wigs to see how you look with different hairstyles!

Thinking of you and sending you good vibes!

You'll probably come out of "the chemo room" with some pretty good friendships.

    I love your attitude WW.

I'm glad everything is off to such a nice start. I'm happy to hear all of your wonderful news.

Now, about that hair...be sure to save what he cuts off and save it in your closet for SS.

Most of the gossip today was about some lady's fabulous cruise she just got back from. She spent an extra $600 to get the first class suite. She was all, "I'm damn sure not squeezing my ass into no teeny common room with no windows and sht." That made me laugh/nod in agreement.

I'd planned to donate my hair ASAP... I'm not very crafty and I don't want it to hide in my closet and attack me a la CW.

So glad it went well! For the record, closet hair is usually very docile and can make for a great conversation piece. Just sayin'.

I'm sure your MIL would hold onto (and then make something with) your hair if you'd let her. ;)

That's great news. Your positivity is an inspiration.

Donating is lovely, but...there might be some ladies around here willing to spend a pretty penny just to touch it.  :P

Nice, glad it went as well as can be expected.

And yes, you need to get out of newbie status and start gracing them with your storytelling skillz ;)
