Wedding Woes

s/o peanut allergies and past boyfriends

Looseleaf letter writer had a "severe" peanut allergy. He had an epi pen up in a box at the top of his closet that took him 10 minutes to find the one time he decided it was really important that I learn how to use it (because that's a cool thing to do to someone with a phobia of needles). Twice on evenings when I'd made plans to go out with other friends and he didn't want me to go, he mysteriously ate something in the dining hall that "must have contained peanuts" and made me take him to the ER. Once the mysterious food he'd eaten was pad thai, which was clearly labeled. So he actually "poisoned" himself to get me to hang out with him. The other time he wouldn't say what he'd eaten, but the ER doctors were pretty eye-rolly, so I suspect he faked it. Actually, the ER doctors were eye-rolly both times, so I suspect the allergy wasn't nearly as severe as he said it was.

Side note: this was also his second attempt at college, which is why he was so much older than I was. The first time around he went to Boston U, and he claims he had to drop out because he'd eaten something with peanuts in their dining hall, and the resulting hospitalization made him depressed so he had to drop out.

Winner.
