E-pic Locations in Seattle

So FI and I have scheduled our engagement session for April 8th.

We really wanted our session to really reflect "us" and our interests, etc. We plan to start out in Seattle and get some city shots, stop into a cute coffee shop and get some shots of us drinking a latte together. And we are going to end the session over on Alki getting some skyline shots, but most importantly some shots with the Alki Lighthouse because we are huge lighthouse fanatics. If we could afford it, we would probably take a vacation to see all the lighthouse in the world! That would be an amazing trip!

My question.....what do we do in Seattle? Oh, I forgot to mention that we want our session to be unique and not the typical go-to spots, but we want some cool urban shots. FI does want to get at least a few Pike Place pics with the sign and hopefully try to get some needle shots. So what else could we do that would be in either of those areas that would make some great pictures and also be unique? Know of any good hidden spots? Any good non-name-brand coffee shops downtown? Maybe one that does latte art?

Figured I'd reach out to you guys for any ideas we may not have thought of or may not know of since we don't live in Seattle.

TIA!!!

Sorry, I'm not much good for Downtown shots. If you go down to the north end of Alaskan Way, where the Piers are there is a cool sculpture, plus the water. I know the Tully's and Fuel look pretty cool in Wallingford, but that's north Seattle, the other thing that would be kinda cool, is if you rented canoes and got pics of you guys sitting in a canoe in Lake Washington, by the UW with all the water lilies. If you like theatre, another cool one would be outside the Paramount up on Pike or Pine, by Boren...Hope that helps. GL!

I would suggest Cupcake Royal for the coffee shops. It's a cupcake / coffee place, but I honestly can't remember the name. Last time I was there, they had a T-shirt that said "These cupcakes are taken" which I think would be very appropriate in an e-pic shot. hehe

We took our e-pics at UW's campus (we met there), it has a lot of really pretty buildings, and in Fremont, the Troll was fun to take photos with Wink

Ditto abrieckinthewall, go to one of the Cupcake Royals.  They sell coffee and Cupcakes, and if you are their Facebook "friend" you can get 1 Bacon Whiskey Maple cupcake for free this weekend (just print off the coupon, buy a coffee, and it's yours!).

Discovery Park or Golden Gardens would also get you really nice scenic backgrounds. Discovery park has that tall grass which looks great in photos.  You could do a cute, stylized faux picnic with a little wicker picnic basket, wine, cheese & crackers.  If you have a dog or something you could also do more action "day in the life of" shots throwing a frisbee in the water for him/her, or just play with sunset lighting in those locations (beautiful).  These are all ideas I'm toying with.  OooOoo, or you could have a bonfire at Golden Gardens and roast s'mores? :)

My photog is in India until late April, but I am hoping the Tulip Festival will still be looking good at the end up April this year for e-pics.  Since you are doing it early April, and if you're willing to travel a little bit, that could be really spectacular for you!
