Lots of Checks

After months of nothing seeming to happen, we finally have some actual checks. :)

* Got a venue for rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception, signed contracts, put the deposit down.

* Got the cake topper in the mail. It is unbelievably cute and just what we wanted.

* Got our custom stamps from the sale sarack (I think) posted about a few weeks ago. Also, incredibly cute. Very excited.

* Picked out the restaurant we'll be having our 'just us' family dinner at post legal ceremony this summer. (Wild Ginger)

* Have a photographer, sort of. Meeting with them in the next few weeks to hammer out contracts and desires and what not. :) Turns out the only weekend in July of 2011 they aren't booked is ours. Which is fantastic (but also makes me worry irrationally just a little bit that there's something wrong with our weekend :P).

What I'm trying not to do:

* Schedule a day at court before FI's fiance visa gets officially approved. FI says it'll jinx it, as if all the other wedding planning isn't already jinxing it. :P

    Thanks guys. ^^

And yes! I love Wild Ginger. FI tried it out this past weekend and gave it the thumbs up. I am so addicted to their laksa. Yummy, coconutty, seafood goodness. Yum!

Wait, now that I see my ticker next to yours, July 16th, right?  Nothing wrong with it as far as I know.  I'd take it as a sign that perhaps it was meant to be?

shelui4: After our guest list ballooned a little bit (from 50 to 100ish), we decided to go with the Woodmark. I think what cemented it for FI was tasting the chicken manchego appetizers at the Voila event a few weeks ago. :P Boys and their stomachs. Our wedding coordinator also worked out a small discount on the minimums (which they wouldn't give me on my own which still kind of annoys me), but I guess all's well that ends well, right?

I was also really overwhelmed my first dress shopping experience (really nervous beforehand too), though the women at I Do Bridal were incredibly nice. I went in there with a certain idea in my head of what would look good on me and had that totally blown away since my friend who went along told me to try on as many different styles as I could, even the poofy cupcake dresses I didn't think I'd like. Of course, in the end, the poofy cupcake dress looked the best. Ah well. XD

tygirl: Yep, July 16th. I'm trying to take it as a sign as it was meant to be, though I wonder why all the other weekends filled up so quickly since they have four photographers in their group! Now watch, I've totally jinxed us with the photo sitch. Still, it's nice to breathe a little bit. So yes, yay!! for major checks.

Aww congrats on Woodmark! It's a gorgeous place and a very intimate setting. :) That's great that your wedding coordinator was able to get you guys a discount on the minimum.. I was kinda inquiring Woodmark too but FI did not want to spend our whole budget which was already their $25k minimum on just the venue and food. That would've meant no more $$ on the other stuff! :(

Ooo the place I went on saturday was I Do Bridal too. The consultant I had was really sweet and not pushy at all which I liked alot esp since I was also nervous too beforehand.. I definitely had an "idea" of two styles I really liked and wanted to try on. I brought one of my BM and another friend along with me and they practically tore through the racks and handed me dresses to try. The one I ended up falling for and liked alot was one that I never even thought about and was one that my BM had picked and I was just being nice to try it on for her. Go figure! ;)

The girls at I Do Bridal are soooooooooo nice. It's such a small store but really well-run I think and very cute. I dropped by the other day to check out color swatches for bridesmaid dresses and cravats and pocket kerchiefs and vests and what not and they were helpful and sweet. They were also perfectly lovely at the Seattle Wedding Show.
