Wedding Woes

Annual review update

I think my lack of a purple shirt was not a major issue.  The detailed review was overall very positive. A few things to work on, but blah blah, good.

I'm not strategic enough in my thinking (um, ok) and often "give an 8 instead of a 10."  Dude. I have 2 kids under 2.5. I'm tired.

Anyway, here's the kicker - no salary discussion.  We're going to regroup and talk salary next week, though he's "confident we'll find a way to make me happy."  Dude, you'd better be talking about a $15k raise, because THAT is what I am needing at this point.

At least I have an extra week to come armed with a more complete list of raise-earning phenomenal accomplishments.

And yes, I will wear a purple shirt for that one, fo sho.

Wow, are $15K raises common in your field?

When you're already underpaid by $15k, they aren't unreasonable to ask for in any field..

An 8 sounds good to me.

    This all sounds good.

H told me that if I could somehow make $50K more per year he would follow me rather than me following him.  Gee.  Thanks, hon.  I'll get right on that.

psht.  Tell your H if you could make $50k more/year, you would be able to hire a sexy lover who wouldn't make you follow him to the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, Nola.  He was all, "All I need is a 7. So 8 is good. But I really feel like we need to get you to 10."  I mean, hell, I'm not perfect, I know, but I just don't have that kind of energy.

It's nice that he recognized my contributions. I really didn't expect him to.  But he didn't make it easy for me to say "see ya," though, which is what I think I was kindof hoping for.

$15K could bring a 10 (every once in a while).

I think he occasionally gets a 12, which should make the usual 8 a little more palatable.

But yeah, my usual internal dialogue of "no way, you don't pay me enough for that" would decrease quite a bit if he topped off the paycheck.
