Need help! Dad and I have been estranged!

So last year in May when I graduated college my "dad" stopped speaking to me and my sister for no reason and didn't come to my graduation or my graduation party. And we haven't spoken since. My uncle (his brother) asked me who was walking me down the aisle. I told him I didn't know so he volunteered to do it. Now my "dad' wants to try and mend fences and get passed everything and walk me down the aisle but I still have issues where he is concerned. What should I do?

Would you like your uncle to walk you down the aisle? Or is it more that he's the one who volunteered, and you're wanting SOMEone to do it?

There's nothing wrong with walking by yourself, either.

If you're happy with your uncle walking you, and he's obviously willing, then go with it.

If your dad has problems with it, just be honest and let him know how you feel about you and him not having a close relationship. Sure, he may not be happy with it, but it's all about what YOU want on your wedding day.
