DH watched this last night as I was sleeping on the couch. I got up just as he was about to put it on and retreated off to bed.

I watched the three episodes last night and will continue watching, so I'm up for talking.  But I only know the names of Leckie (sp?) and Eugene.  Beyond that I'm calling them by descriptive nicknames.

I missed the Sunday episode, but have it DVRd. I love it. Man hated the "love story" part.

This was probably the most violent of the episodes so far and it looks like next week it is going to get worse. Sledgehammer is becoming a little kill machine.

Are spoilers implied? If not, this is spoiler from the most recent episode! (IDK the 'rules' on this one.)

What's the guys name that nick named sledgehammer? I can't figure him out. Kinda wierd.

I was all <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gif" border="0" alt="Surprised" title="Surprised" /> when the guy went crazy in the middle of the night and the other guy used a metal thing to shut him up so they alll wouldn't die, then it killed him.
(IDK all their names to explain it.)

That guy's name is Snafu and he is creepy as all get out. He cut the teeth out of a dead person. Pretty easy to figure out that is creepy.

I'm sort of watching with DH.  He said this series is nowhere near as good as Band of Brothers and I agree with him.

I think it is different. I think Band of Brothers had better story/character development. The Pacific is getting there.

In both series, there are so many people to pay attention to that it is hard. Also, the people you do "know" are running around so fast with blasts and people exploding - so it's hard to keep track of them.

We are watching, but we usually don't catch up on TiVo until later in the week.  We haven't seen this week's episode yet.

I wasn't think of that. That is just nasty, and creepy.

    His mannerisms are weirdo.

This exact thing gets me in both series, especially when they all have on helmets.  I find I either rewind a lot or sit back and sort everything out at the end.

The construction of The Pacific is definitely different than Band of Brothers.  In the long run I think it will be good in terms of both storytelling and differentiating it from Band of Brothers, but it does make it a bit difficult to get into at first.

The Pacific was an entirely different campaign comared to what was going on in Europe. You can really say The Pacific is Band of Brothers, with sun.
