Wedding Woes

I may just kill my mother

She just emailed me.  (Note:  emailed.  Not called.)  For whatever reason, she screwed up booking my grandma's return flight to Florida (in JUNE, so I'm not even sure why she booked it already) and scheduled her to depart the day of DD's first birthday party.  And my mom flies with her, because my grandma is going on 93 and she's not comfortable flying on her own.  (Plus, my grandma lives with my aunt and uncle, so my mom usually spends a couple of days visiting them while she's there.)  And she says she doesn't want to spend the money to change the tickets, so can we have the party the weekend before so my mom and grandma don't miss it?

No.  A) I'm going to be out of town the Sun.-Tues. before the party, and B) my dad and his wife have already booked their flights for the actual party date, and I'm not about to ask them to change their tickets.

I guess my mother has some thinking to do.  I can't believe she emailed me, except that maybe she didn't want to hear "You can't be serious" live over the phone.

    OMG. I'd be PISSED.

Especially over that it was an email, not a phone call to hash it all out.

Is it seriously that expensive to change the tickets?

Oy.  I'll help you bury the body.  I have a free place to stay in NC since BIL and SIL live out there.  :)

That's what I'm wondering.  I'm trying to remember whether US Air is $50 or $150, plus any difference in ticket prices.

I remember it being fairly insignificant to the overall cost of the ticket when I changed dates last year. Maybe it depends on the airline, but I'd have no issues dropping an extra $100 or $200 if it meant correcting my mistake and being able to see my granddaughter's 1st bday party.

But seriously, I can't believe she straight-face emailed you to ask to change the date b/c she screwed up!
