Low-key reception site?

So FI and I made the decision a little while ago to do a destination wedding (Maui!) but we still want to do a reception in Seattle when we get back.  Any ideas for locations for a low-key reception site?  We just want a place where we can hang out, have a few finger foods, drinks and, of course, Trophy cupcakes. :) We have a tentative booking with Wild Ginger downtown, but the more I think about it, the more I don't think we're going to spend their $3500 minimum with 65 people just on drinks and finger foods, and I think we want something simpler than that. No minimum would be best, but under $2000 would be great and preferably actually IN Seattle.

TIA!
Tasha

Look into the Hall at Fauntleroy. They are really quite amazing. there is a two thousand dollar "food" minimum for the room, but you can include your alchohol, etc. with them. for 65 people i would look into the "pool room" that they have or possibly the Vashon room.... tell them Marla Erath referred you
GREAT PEOPLE, FABULOUS FOOD and VERY EASY TO WORK WITH.
we are getting married there (downstairs in the Vashon) and having our reception there as well (Emerald).  on January 1st.Smile

Are you looking for that to include only food and drinks? Or are you wanting chairs, tabels, etc?

Ideally we were hoping for the place to have the chairs/tables/plates/cutlery etc, but I know that's a tall order...

I'll take a look at the Hall at Fauntleroy, thanks for the suggestion!

You could also rent a building though Seattle Parks and then get some fabulous food!

Our venue is Acalia Events (Foodz Catering). They might be above your budget slightly, but if you are just planning on drinks and appetizers, then it might work! They are super flexible and easy to work with. The tables, chairs, linens, dishes, silverware, etc. are all included.

    Good luck!

Or Ray's or Salty's?  Or one of the restaurants on Lake Union?

I'm having my wedding at Ray's Boathouse on Thursday and they accomodate what you're looking for with a totally reasonable minimum.  Salty's is a good one, too.

The District Lounge in the Hotel Deca or the Governor's Room at the Hotel Deca is a great place for what you are looking for.
