Washington-Seattle

Seattle honeymoon

One of the first things we decided about our wedding was the honeymoon destination: we've been dreaming about visiting Washington and Oregon for quite some time... So I'm looking at you ladies for some help: where does a couple of Belgian newlyweds go for a great time? All we know is that we're going to Seattle, but ideas for what to do there and elsewhere in Washington (and Oregon) are welcome!

The Oregon coast, especially Cannon Beach is romantic, senic, and would be a great honeymoon desitnation.  It is about 3.5 hours S of Seattle.  I personally would skip the Washington coast and do the Oregon coast.

As a life-long Seattle-ite that has been all over the US, it is hard to go wrong anywhere in the Northwest.   Lots of outdoor/hiking stuff to do, lots of water, and even a good  selection of the urban activities.

University of Washington campus is fun to walk around, and you can rent canoes to go out into the lake.

The University's Arboretum is very beautiful, there is also a Japanese Garden.

    Mt. Rainer hiking

You can take a ferry to any of the islands, Bainbridge Island is one of my favorites.

The Clipper leaves from downtown Seattle and you can take it to Victoria BC which is a beautiful city and a fun day trip.

That's lots of ideas already... Thanks a lot. I don't know yet for how long we're gonna go, but I'm sure it will be too short. :-)
