CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (KRON) -- A four-month old girl reported missing from her bassinet in Contra Costa County is safe in Los Angeles and now authorities are questioning the girl's grandmother.
Family members tell KRON 4's Maureen Kelly the child's paternal grandmother apparently sneaked into the family's home Saturday night, then grabbed four-month old Ramy Gallego and drove her overnight to Los Angeles.
The child's parents say they had no idea the grandmother was in the home.
Authorities got the call Sunday morning when Ramy's mother awoke to find the infant missing from her bassinet. Deputies launched a search for the girl and questioned the parents.
Officials say the child is in good shape and has been reunited with her mother and father. It will be up to prosecutors to determine if the grandmother will be charged in the case.
