Clearplay

Just read the replies in the thread about Limitless- My Brother is still Pentecostal-I watched the movie (and lots of others) through clearplay with him when I was taking care of him after his fall. They watch anything above a G through it. It's kind of nice if you have kids and want to watch movies with them, I think...but it definitely leaves plot holes.
No closet hair was involved. Although, my niece's hair is almost to her knees now!

  • Ohhhhh ok.  That makes sense.

  • I am curious.  Is it something on their TV that filters these things out of regular DVDs?  Or is it a service that creates alternate versions of movies and you stream/buy their DVDs?

  • It's a DVD player that's wirelessly connected to the internet. It updates itself with all of the new movies every Tuesday (when new releases come out) and basically it just cuts out all of the "bad" stuff.

My friend had a clearplay back in the day before DVD's and wireless, and it could only cut out curse words by using the clear captioning scripts, and it would replace them in text on the bottom of the screen. It was kind of funny watching the D*ck Clark New Years Eve show, because it called him "jerk Clark"
