Acalia/Foodz?

I'm getting married on Maui, but trying to plan our Seattle reception now too.  Anyone know anything about the prices for Acalia/Foodz?  I can't find any prices for the catering and I don't know if they're within our budget.  We're trying to do the entire Seattle reception for less than $5000 and we have about 70 peple.

We're having our wedding there on a Sunday afternoon in like, a month!. Here is the price for our menu:

Passed Hors D'Oeuvres (3 of them)
Buffet Dinner - Chicken, Pasta, Salad, bread
$23.00 per person

Beer/Wine/Non-Alcoholic Drinks
$3.95 per person/per hour

There is a rental fee for the venue. Ours was $775. But you get everything: plates, silverware, linens, tables, chairs and they decorate the food tables.

If you are interested in them, I would make an appointment. You can talk with them to customize something that will work within your budget!

Oh, you do also have to pay for the cost of staffing, but it's not too bad. Also, they do not charge cake cutting fees )

We looked at Acalia/Foodz for our RD, but Melissa (not the owner, but the woman who was emailing/talking over the phone with us) totally turned me off of booking them.  She seems completely email illiterate, and told us we had to talk on the phone about certain things, and when we spoke with her it was a waste of our time, and she knew little to nothing about what we needed to know/had questions about.

We had a meeting with the owner (Shelby, I think), and it was fantastic, and I think $5,000 is doable for 70 people.  There are definitely ways to cut costs that she can recommend.

My advice, try to talk to Melissa as little as possible.

True, PP. Melissa is not the fasest upon e-mail response. Our inital meeting was with Shelby and she is fabulous. Request a meeting with her if possible )
